Tour of Taranis | Side Quests - Taranis Risen 3 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
How to unlock the quest: through conversation with Baker.
Quest giver: Baker (point 2 on the map)
The guard named Baker can be found on a small hill neighboring the harbor (point 2 on the map). You can meet this man either during your own journey, or by doing the side quest called "Speak to Baker", given to you by Marbuk. Baker will propose you a joint expedition to the mages encampment, and it's a good idea to accept it.
Note - Baker is also an ability trainer.
Shortly after you begin your march, Baker will stop and suggest you to examine the nearby cave (point 2a on the map). You can skip this step, but it's worthwhile to check the cave, because you will be able to get some additional experience points, as well as items. Inside the cave there are four bats (Cave Bat), and by killing each one of them you will be given 100 Glory Points. During the encounter, try to avoid their swift attacks and stand in narrow passages, so they won't be able to surround you. After the fight is over (100 Glory Points) examine the cave, or immediately go outside to continue your journey.
Note - if you want to gain experience points for killing monster, don't let Baker kill them. The last hit must always come from the Nameless Hero or a permanent party member.
After a short while you will have to make up your mind again. You can either choose the longer route, leading through the canyon (point 2b on the map), avoiding the more demanding encounters with the enemies (you will probably have to deal with Scavengers only). The second option is to go through the cave (point 2c on the map). This way it's almost certain to encounter additional Cave Bats, as well as Rock Spiders.
Regardless of your decision, you should soon reach the mages encampment (point 2d on the map). Listen to what Baker has to say during the last conversation, which will end the quest.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- 320 Glory Points ( less if you decided to skip the first cave)
