Sea Battle Against Crow | Other quests Risen 3 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
The way to unlock the quest: Automatically, after you complete "The Traitor" main quest (Taranis isle).
Quest giver: Horas
You can unlock this quest towards the end of the "The Traitor" quest , which you do on the Taranis isle. Just to remind you, the aim of the quest is to get Horas, the traitor and to defeat the titan that he summons. After you defeat the titan, you will watch a cutscene of the conversation with the mage. From Horas, you will learn that you can fight a naval battle with ghost ships, commanded by Crow, a piece of information confirmed by Bones, during a conversation.
You cannot start the battle with Crow right away and this does not happen automatically, after you sail into the sea, a thing that happened in the case of the Inquisition and the renegade pirates. First of all, you need to meet two requirements:
1) Destroy all crystal portals - you can find the description of the steps that you need to take, in the chapter entitled "Other Quests, in the walkthrough for the "The Realm of the Shadows" quest.
2) Include five vessels in your fleet - These are the ships of the Demon Hunters, the Natives, the Crystal Mages, the Inquisition and the renegade pirates. You can find the description of the steps that you need to take in the chapter with the main quests on the Antigua isle, in the walkthrough for the "Pirate Alliance" quest, given to you by Alvarez.
If you have met both requirements, go aboard your ship, interact with the steering wheel and select "Attack Crow's fleet of ghost ships" (the above screenshot).
Note - if you want to check on your progress, you can select Report from the list. Your character will tell what may be missing.
Pick any destination and wait for the cutscene, of the beginning of the battle with Crow's fleet, to load. After you regain control of your character, walk to the right a bit and hop over the obstacles. After you get to the main deck, go ahead. Be prepared to double-tap the key/button displayed on the screen, because this is the only way to escape death.
Kill the first Minion and keep going, while using the secondary weapon to cut your way through. Attack the minions and wait for another cutscene, of boarding Crow's ship.
First, you will have to defeat a, quite, numerous group of minions so, remember to stay in motion for the whole time and not to let yourself be cornered. After you defeat the minions, you will be attacked by a Shadow Guardian. You need to be even more careful here, because the beast is quite agile and deals high damage. Depending on your playing style, rely either on frequent dodges or parrying the opponent's attacks. Heal yourself only if your character's health drops below 50%.
Finally, you will have to face off against Crow, i.e. the captain of the ghost ships. In spite of what you might expect, he is not too demanding, especially if you are fighting at a distance and prevent him from landing melee attacks. After you defeat Crow, this quest will be over. Apart from that, from now on, you can visit the Skull Island so, go to the chapter with the main quests in that location.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- 1150 Glory Points
- Unlocks the "Evil's Refuge" main quest.
