Way to unlock the quest: Automatically, after you find the Faded Diary (Taranis isle).

The treasure is in the ruins that you visit to kill the Shadow Lord

You could unlock this quest during your stay on the Taranis isle, i.e. after you have located the diary inside one of the caves. After you return to Calador bay, you can complete this quest. To do that, you need to go to the ruins in the Western part of the map, i.e. to the location that you visit to kill the Shadow Lord, among others and obtain the grimoire. During the exploration of the ruins, stop after you reach the location marked as X, painted on the ground (point 17 on the map).Use the spade to dig up the treasure and take a look into the chest, where you find, among others, a Ruby and an Ornamental Belt (it is one of the legendary items).
