Become a Voodoo Master | Side Quests - Taranis Risen 3 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Unlocking the quest: Talk to Hirutu (Kila island)
The quest giver: Hirutu
Note - This quest becomes available after you join the Natives!
You may have unlocked this quest during your stay on Kila island, specifically after meeting with Hirutu the chief. In one stage of the quest you have to visit Taranis island with purpose of locating the leader of the "little people", voodoo specialists. The character you are looking for is Abbas, the leader of gnomes on Taranis. Abbas can be found in the mages camp, specifically in its section separated for gnomes. (point 17 on the map). Meet the gnome, who will ask the Nameless Hero for help with solving a problem of false accusations of stealing that are being put on gnomes. He will give you a Bunch of Nose Hairs, needed for completing the quest.
The next step is poorly explained in the Nameless Hero's journal. You have to craft a voodoo doll. Before you do anything, double check if your hero has Craft Spells proficiency from Magic category, because without it you cannot do a thing. If you do not have this skill, visit a trainer (e.g. Tenya on Kila island) and pay for the training (2,000 gold).
If you do have Craft Spells proficiency, you can now start looking for an Ancestral Stone, which is a sort of a workshop for crafting voodoo spells. I recon the most convenient solution is to briefly return to Kila island and use the Stone in the Natives Village, near Tenya (picture above).
Interact with the Ancestral Stone, and from the list choose the Bunch of Nose Hairs, which you have recently acquired. In order to prepare a Voodoo Doll of Bisi, you have to possess four ingredients:
- Bunch of Nose Hairs - you obtained the hairs during your conversation with Abbas.
- 1 Jade - You should have a lot of these on you, but if not, you can look around, explore a cave/mine or, as a last resort, buy a Jade from a vendor.
- 1 Eye - Eyes are dropped by some monsters when killed, so if you checked their remains (even without special hunting skills), you should now have at least some of these on you. If not, visit a miscellaneous items vendor (vendors list is in a separate part of the guide).
- 1 Monkey Skull - The best way to obtain skulls is by killing monkeys. Most often you can find them in the jungle on Kila island. If you do not want to waste time for the search, you can go to a miscellaneous items vendor (e.g. Tenya).
If you possess all the required ingredients, confirm that you want to create a voodoo doll. Select it right in your inventory (Magic tab) and drag to the quick access bar.
You can now go back to the mages camp on Taranis. This time, enter the main building (point 16 on the map). Look for a gnome named Bisi, who usually stays somewhere on the ground floor or the first floor. Approach the gnome and activate the previously prepared voodoo doll (select the right item from the quick access bar). Performing this action will give you control over Bisi.
Playing as Bisi, start by meeting a mage Lumbrok, who should be somewhere on the first floor of the building (200 Glory Points). Lumbrok will give you several tasks, the first one being to put away a book Astra Orbits, which he does not need any more. Go down to the ground floor and start examining the book shelves on the right. Interact with the last one (the one closest to the building exit), to put the book away (100 Glory Points).
Note - While controlling Bisi, you can have additional conversations. They often are humorous and may result in getting extra items (of little value, though). In some cases, you will have an option of stealing from your interlocutor - it is good to use that, since right now you do not have to possess any special skills in order to succeed in stealing.
Go back to Lumbrok and listen to the details of the next objectives. This time Bisi is asked to take an important document from the room that belongs to a mage Ilvar. Apart from the document (Bill of Loading) pointed by Lumbrok (100 Glory Points) you can also take Crystals, Reactors, a book Titans!, but it is not necessary to do that. Take the document back to Lumbrok (100 Glory Points).
The last task Lumbrok gives you is to steal a signet ring from a mage Faruco. Since Faruco has the ring on himself, first you have to find him (he should be on the ground floor or the first floor of the building). Start a conversation with the mage and then select Steal dialogue option. Carrying the newly obtained Signet Ring return to Lumbrok (100 Glory Points).
After giving the ring to Lumbrok, a cut-scene should launch automatically. You will see a conversation between Erasmus and Lumbrok (400 Glory Points). Wait until the conversation is over, and then talk to Erasmus. You have to accuse Erasmus of stealing and mention that gnomes are falsely accused of that (200 Glory Points). As a compensation, Erasmus gives you 500 gold. You have now done all you had to do as Bisi, so go back to the place where you "left" the Nameless Hero, and retake control over him.
Finally, meet the gnome Abbas again (point 17 on the map) and tell him that the problem is solved. Depending on your preferences you can tell Abbas that Bisi got 500 gold from Erasmus and give it to him, or keep the gold for yourself. In the first case, Abbas will give you 350 gold.
Note - If you have not yet completed the remaining stages of this quest, you have to visit Tacarigua and Antigua islands. Otherwise, you may return to Kila, to have the concluding conversation with Tenya.
