Introduction | Weapons quests Risen 3 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
In Risen 3: Titan Lords, just like in the previous installment, it is possible to forge unique variations of melee weapons. This requires appropriate preparations and exploring the select locations in the game world but, as a reward for your endeavors, you gain access to unique melee weapons of excellent parameters. I recommend against skipping these quests, even if you specialize in ranged weapons, or magic, because each of the unique weapons is of high value and you can sell it for high profit.
In the case of each of the unique weapons described here, the pattern of action is the same. You first need to obtain the elements of the unique weapon, i.e. the Blade and the Hilt. Most of these items can be found during free exploration of the game world, but you can receive some of them as a reward for completing side quests.
Apart from obtaining the blade and the hilt, you also need to unlock the Blacksmithing skill. To do that, you need to go to one of the trainers (e.g. Wilson of the Demon Hunters' Citadel in the Calador Bay) and pay for the training. This skill will cost you 2000 Gold Pieces.
Only after you have met the above requirements, you can use one of the forges in the game world (among others, you can find them at Wilson's at the Citadel, or at Gordon's in the Mages' encampment on Taranis). After you interact with the Anvil, select the blade, or the hilt of the weapon and confirm that you want to forge the unique item. From now on, you can either use the weapon or sell it.
Note - To find the elements of the unique weapons, you can help yourself with your log. After you have found one of the two elements, you can activate the log entry, connected with the specific weapon, thanks to which the game will point to you the fragment that you are missing.
