Kicking Ass | Side Quests - Tacarigua Risen 3 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Way to unlock the quest: Talk to Jack.
Quest giver: Jack (point 1 on the map)
Jack is staying on the beach in the central part of the isle (point 1 on the map), close to where you start the exploration of this location. During the conversation, Jack complains about two soldiers of the Inquisition, who have seized the nearby lighthouse. The man wants you to drive the Inquisitors away, so he can return to performing his duties.
Head towards the lighthouse on a small hill, to the North-West of where Jack is (point 1a on the map). After you get there, talk to Tanner, in the first place. During the conversation, you may use the Silver Tongue skill, developed to the level of, at least 60 points. Still, you gain measly 50 gold pieces for that. Regardless of the dialogue options that you pick, the only to put the Inquisitor back in his place is to defeat him in fight. Since Tanner attempts melee attacks, dodge or rely on ranged attacks. After you have defeated the inquisitor, (do not worry - he only passes out) (200 glory points) send him back to the beach.
Note - Tanner is also a skill trainer.
Note - During the fight with Tanner, do not attack Holtby, because this may unnecessarily provoke him to join the fight.
Approach Holtby and have a quite fruitless conversation with him. After the meeting, enter the lighthouse and locate Holtby's Diary on one of the tables. Collect it and read it from the inventory level.
Descend from the hill and locate the cave entrance at the foot (point 1b on the map). You need to watch put, because there are Claw Monkeys and Scavengers around, among others. What is even more, after you enter the cave, you may also be attacked by several Ghouls, which are quite nimble and deal considerable damage (wait for the ghouls to leave, if you do not want to fight in narrow passages).
First of all, there is a big Cruel Lindworm inside. Try to remain in constant movements, while fighting the beast, and do not let yourself be cornered by it (you can lure it outside of the cave) and use the best attacks that you pack. After you defeat the monster, start the exploration of the cave, where you will find several Termite Warriors and Termite Workers). Continue along your path across the cave and watch out for the tripwire. Try to jump over it, or spring it and press quickly the indicated key/button.
Note - If you have already complete the "Wet Behind the Ears" quest, you will not encounter the flying beast, in the cave, again.
You need to reach the last location in the cave (point 1c on the map), because it is here that you find Holtby's Chest. Open the chest and collect the Stolen Goods from it (100 glory points). You can now return to Holtby (point 1a on the map) and present him with the evidence - items from the chest and the diary. The Inquisitor admits to having robbed Jack (200 glory points). Have Holtby give you the gold (250 gold pieces) and send him back to the beach (200 glory points).
Finally, you need to return to Jack (point 1 on the map). Let the man know that you have dealt with the problem with the Inquisitors near the lighthouse and return the stolen goods to him, which you have collected from the chest in the cave.
Note - On the beach, you can meet up with Holtby again. Thanks to using the Intimidate skill on him, developed to, at least, 50 points you will receive a Sparkling Gold Ring from him.
Rewards for completing the quest:
- 150 gold pieces
- Unlocks the option to trade with Jack (you will find him next to the lighthouse, from now on).
