The Ancient Knowledge | Main Quests - Calador
How to unlock the quest: Through conversation with Eldric.
Quest giver: Eldric (point 2 on the map).
During the conversation with Eldric, located in the Demon Hunter's Citadel (point 2 on the map), you will learn about the existence of tomes of Ancient Knowledge, which can come in handy in the restoration of the Nameless Hero's soul. You will be send to the castle ruins located to the West of the Citadel, where a grimoire containing valuable information is hidden.
The trip to ruins was thoroughly described in the walkthrough section of the main quest "New Allies", because the same ruins (point 2j on the map) need to be visited in the quest to murder the Shadow Lord of Cowardice (point 2l on the map). Depart on your journey to find the grimoire only if you've already defeated the Shadow Lord. Start in the same spot you've killed the beast in and head towards the Western stairs. The destination is one of the buildings located on the castle grounds (point 2m on the map) - you will have to slay a few Minions and Skeletons along the way.
After entering the above mentioned building, use the stairway leading to the upper floor. Examine the whole floor, and you should soon be able to reach the altar on which the Grimoire is located (200 Glory Points). You can now leave this location. Go back to Eldric (point 2 on the map) and give him the grimoire. In return, you will be given some rewards.
Talk to Eldric again, after you've joined one of the main factions in the game (demon hunters, natives or guardians). Listen to what he has to say about the grimoire and the ritual that may be helpful in regaining the Nameless Hero's soul. The second chapter of the plot will be completed and you will move on to the next chapter.
