Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough Starfield guide, tips

Revelation is a mission of the final confrontation with the Emissary and the Hunter from the game Starfield. From our walkthrough you will learn how to defeat the Astran spaceships, how to reach the artifact on Masada III and how to play the final clash.

Last update: 17 October 2023

Revelation is the second to last main mission in Starfield's storyline. This page of the guide contains a walkthrough in which we explain, among others, how to defeat Starborn ships in orbit of Masada III, deal with Starborn on the surface, use anomalies, and what choices await you in the final confrontation with the Emissary and/or Hunter.

The recommended level to complete the main campaign's finale is at least 35-40. We do not advise you to proceed with a weaker character, as you may be taking too much damage and have problems dealing with resilient enemies. Also, stock up with as much ammunition and medication as possible.

Reaching Masada III and summoning Starborn ships

1 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. This quest will appear in your log after completing the main quest, Final Glimpses. Before you start the mission, buy a better ship or upgrade the one you already have because you will have to fight a demanding battle in space. It's also a good idea to save the game before the travel.
  2. Masada is a system far away, so you can make smaller jumps to the Alpha Marae, Heisenberg, and Decaran systems.
  3. After reaching your destination, you will take part in a confrontation with Starborn ships. Unfortunately, you cannot avoid this. All dialogue options lead to the battle.

Defeating Starborn ships

2 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. There are always 3 Starborn ships to defeat in this battle. Their squad depends on the decision made in the quest In Their Footsteps. If you supported the Hunter or the Emissary, a given Starborn will stand on your side and help you to a limited extent in the battle, and you will fight a weaker ship instead of theirs. The most challenging situation is if you haven't supported anyone - in that case, Hunter and Emissary ships will attack you together with an additional unit.
  2. Focus on one ship at a time. This is due the fact that the main antagonists' ships do not have to be completely destroyed. Hunter and Emissary ships can retreat once they are sufficiently damaged.
  3. Remember to properly redirect energy and quickly repair the hull when it is damaged.

Landing at the Temple

3 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. After the battle, you must land on the surface of the Masada III planet. Head to the place where the artifact is stored.
  2. Along the way, you must fight several battles with the Starborn. Focus on one opponent at time and try to expose Starborn to your attacks (e.g. by knocking them to the ground) to deal with them more efficiently.
  3. Mercenaries from Eclipse can also appear in the Temple area, but they are much less demanding enemies than the Starborn.
  4. The battle with the Guardian Athaliah may be more challenging. Don't try to take the ordinary enemies on, just concentrate your attacks on her. Defeating her will let you to end the battle faster.

Finding a way to open the door

4 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. After receiving this mission objective, investigate the control room where the Ecliptic base ID card from the picture is. Take it to the reader at the closed red doors. This will allow you to enter the base.

Entering the anomaly

5 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. Look for the corridor with curtains in the base. There is the anomaly related to the main objective of the mission. On the way, you may encounter more anomalies, and they can teleport your character.
  2. You will encounter more Starborn you have to defeat. Additionally, watch out for threats from robots and turrets on the ceilings - we recommend destroying them first. Alternatively, you can break into the room using the security's computer and sabotage all base security.
  3. After the fight, look for the Ecliptic Base key from the picture above. Use it to open the double yellow doors.

Confrontation with Petrov

6 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. After passing through the anomaly, you will find yourself in Petrov's base, whom you met earlier in the story quest. You have to defeat him and all the other enemies in the room. You won't be able to avoid the fight using dialogue options.
  2. After winning the battle, examine Petrov's corpse, and among the loot, you will find Private Quarters Key (picture). Use it to get out of this place.

Meeting with Vladimir and preparing for the final battle

7 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. Reach the elevator, which will take you to a location resembling The Eye. You can optionally talk to Vladimir and choose peaceful dialogue options or provoke a fight with him.
  2. Reach the next anomaly. There are a lot of weapons and supplies in the cave. Collect as many of them as you can because the final battle in the game is getting close.
  3. Keep going forward and defeat Guardian Fionn. Don't waste time attacking duplicates, just search for the main opponent by his name. Reach the entrance to the Temple.

Confrontation with the Hunter and the Emissary in the Temple

Right after entering the Temple, it is a good idea to save your game immediately - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide

Right after entering the Temple, it is a good idea to save your game immediately. After taking a few steps toward the artifact, you will initiate a confrontation with the Starborn. Depending on the choice in the In Their Footsteps quest, there may be 3 variants. A hostile attitude towards your character can have:

  1. only the Hunter (if you previously supported the Emissary);
  2. only Emissary (if you supported the Hunter);
  3. Hunter AND Emissary (if you didn't support either Starborn).
8 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. You can avoid the final fight, but this is only possible by passing a difficult Persuasion check. You need to collect 8 points, so you have to take risks choosing the red dialogue options.
  2. Check the consumable items in the inventory - there might be some that increase the chances of a successful Persuasion check.
  3. Passing it will cause the Starborn to give you the artifacts without a fight. If you fail, the battle will begin.
9 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. A more obvious option is to fight 1 or 2 Starborn.
  2. Analogous to previous battles, try to attack one target at a time, but unfortunately, Starborn can teleport. The Hunter and Emissary are also immune to the Gravity Wave power, and you can't easily knock them down with it. Some time after the battle starts, the gravity will change, and you will be able to fly around the cave.
10 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. Later in the fight, you will be transported to several other locations, including the Lodge and the Well. Quickly continue to locate the enemies every time you move.
  2. Weaker enemies can also join the fight with Starborn - mercenaries and machines. Just get rid of those who interfere with attacking the main targets. Also ignore Starborn clones as much as possible.
  3. The duration of the battle depends on your experience level and the effectiveness of your weapons. Don't forget about healing.

Taking artifacts

11 - Starfield: Revelation - walkthrough - Main missions - Starfield Guide
  1. If you have defeated Starborn in battle, then search their corpses to take their artifacts. You can also find their unique weapons - the Emissary used the Eternity's Gate rifle, and the Hunter used the Unmitigated Violence rifle.
  2. In both variants, approach the floating Mu artifact and wait until it can be collected. Complete the quest and the final main mission One Giant Leap will start.
