Positive companion reactions

1. All relationship change notifications appear in the upper right corner of the screen. The notification only appears for a moment and is easy to miss, especially if the game displays several notifications at once (such as about acquired items).
2. Taking actions your companion agrees with may get them to befriend you or fall for you (example pictured above).

1. A reliable way to significantly improve relationships is to let your companions speak when conversing to other characters. In the example shown here, one of the options lets Sara speak with the NPC instead of the player.

Negative companion reactions

1. If you do something the companion doesn't approve of, you'll see their opinion of you worsen. They can interfere and bluntly express their disapproval.
2. You can prevent this by reloading your previous save and making a different choice.
3. You can also send them back to your ship in advance. Only the companions currently in your party can react to your actions.
