If you have purchased Starfield by accident, the game did not meet your expectations, or you simply did not like it, you can get a refund. Our guide explains what you need to do and what conditions must be met to refund Starfield.
Steam - refund
On Steam, you can get a refund for pre-ordering Starfield and for buying the game after its release. To refund the game you must:
- spend no more than 2 hours in the game;
- return the game within 14 days of its purchase.
If you meet the above conditions, then go to the page help.steampowered.com or to the "Steam Support" tab in the application.
- Click on "Purchases".
- Under the "I need help with a previous purchase or shipment", you will see a list of recently purchased products - select Starfield.
- Click on "I want a refund".
- In the "Request a refund" table, select the refund method.
- Finally, state the reason for the refund request.
- You should get your money back within a maximum of 7 days.
Xbox - refund
If you have purchased Starfield on the Xbox Series X/S console or in the Microsoft store on PC, the request for a refund for the game can only be made on the support.xbox.com website.
Remember that you can request a refund within 14 days from the day of purchase and if you haven't spent a "significant amount of time" in the game.
- After going to the support.xbox.com page, sign in to your Microsoft account.
- From the "request availability" tab, select Starfield.
- Click on "request a refund".
- Fill out the application stating the reason for the refund request and your email address.
- You will get your money back within a maximum of a few business days.
