Starfield offers a huge world full of planets located far apart from each other. To get to them quickly, you can perform a Grav Jump, but this mechanic is not clearly explained.
Determining the course
If you need to perform a mission on a distant planet, go to Missions, and then select Set Course, by pressing R on the keyboard or X on the controller. However, if you want to go to another planet that is not part of the quest, go to the galaxy map, choose the location you are interested in and press Set Course.
How to perform a Grav Jump?
However, that's not all, because to get to more distant places, you need to perform a Grav Jump. Redirect power from your ship's reactor to the last column - gravity drive. To do this, hold down the left CTRL and select gravity with the arrow keys on the keyboard, then press the up arrow. If you are playing on a controller, you can navigate between factors using the d-pad. However, you must have an adequate power reserve. If you don't have it, you can subtract something from other factors, such as shield or engine.
