In Starfield, there is a restriction for selling unlimited amounts of goods from your inventory or cargo hold. Each merchant has a limited amount of credits - they may not have enough to buy all the items from you. In our guide, we write when the merchants' credits reset and whether it can be forced.
Current amount of a merchant's credits
- Each store has a limited amount of credits. This concerns merchants as well as, for example, Trade Authority stalls. The information about a merchant's credits is shown in the upper right corner of the screen and it differs for each shop.
- Each time you sell unwanted goods to a merchant, the amount of their credits will decrease. There may be a situation in which the merchant will not be able to pay you the full price for the next item. Of course, you should then close the sell window.
- One of the workarounds to this problem is to buy items from the given merchant. By paying them with credits for the goods, you will ensure that the merchant will have more of them again.
When are credits reset?
- Store resets occur every in-game 48 hours. The reset concerns their offer (for example ammunition, crafting items, digipicks) and the amount of credits. This allows you to sell items in the same shop again.
- You can speed up the merchants' reset. You can do that by waiting or resting for 48 hours. Find any free bed, sofa or chair and activate the wait/sleep function. You can speed up the game by 24 hours at a time, so you will have to do it twice. After the in-game calendar advances 2 full days, return to the given merchant, and they should have the default amount of credits again.
