On this page of our guide, we inform what is the maximum character level in Starfield, and show whether you can max out all skills without being hindered by the level cap.
Maximum character level
There is no maximum character level in Starfield . It means that you can practically gain experience points endlessly and ascend to further experience levels without end.
- The final chapters of the main story require the player to be at 30-40 experience level. You can continue ascending to new experience level by performing side activities or beginning a NG+ playthrough.
- Each new experience level awards one Skill Point.
- There are several dozen skills available in the game, with each having 4 ranks. To unlock them all, you'll need more than 300 Skill Points. Since there is no level cap, with enough diligence you can max out all Skills.
- Reaching 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 experience level is rewarded with respective trophies.
- Even though your hero can collect levels endlessly, it may happen that once you reach a very high level, the game will prevent you from continuing. In Fallout 4, one of the previous productions by Bethesda, the game started malfunctioning once the character reached level 65535.
Collecting XP
New character level is received after amassing appropriate XP. Experience is gathered in many ways, mainly:
- progressing with and completing missions - both story and side ones;
- discovering new systems, planets, and locations;
- killing opponents;
- picking locks;
- crafting items.
