Discovering new locations and planets

1. In Starfield, you can earn an average of 20 XP for discovering each new location on the surface. These could be, for example, a research station, ruins, or a new district in the city.
2. You also get experience points when you discover a new planet or moon. You can use this for fast XP accumulation. After arrival at the given system, use fast travel to reach all available planets. You don't have to land on them - just being in their orbit is enough (example of a message in the picture). For each of these individual actions, you can get up to 40 XP.

Completing quests

1. For the first hours in the game, a reasonable strategy to gain XP might be starting and completing missions.
2. It is best to initially choose less complicated side missions, for example, those available in New Atlantis. Completing them will take you less time than long main storyline missions. For completing a single task, you usually receive from several dozen to several hundred XP. Additionally, you can also receive other rewards, such as credits.

Other techniques for gaining XP

Other methods of gaining XP are:

1. Defeating opponents and monsters - You can receive more XP for killing a high-level or elite enemy.
2. Destroying spaceships - The stronger/more elite the enemy ship, the more XP will be granted.
3. Successful persuasion - You will get XP only if you have correctly completed the scene using persuasion.
4. Opening locks - You will receive a few XP every time you successfully open a container or door.
5. Pickpocketing - Successful stealing items from NPC is rewarded.
6. Crafting items - The game rewards all types of activities related to crafting (cooking, creating items, building weapon modifications, etc.).
