How to increase the carrying capacity in Starfield?
The easiest method to increase carrying capacity in Starfield is to invest a skill point into Weight Lifting. You'll find it in the Physical tab. This passive ability increases your carrying capacity by 10 kilograms at Rank 1. You can upgrade Weight Lifting by sprinting a certain distance while over 75% of your carrying capacity. Capping out the skill increases the carrying capacity by 100 kilograms and gives you 50% stagger resistance.
Apart from the skill itself, you can also acquire equipment that increases your carrying capacity. If you have too many heavy things in your inventory, wearing such gear can be worthwhile.
Furthermore, some rations and consumables also increase carrying capacity.
Another ways to deal with carrying capacity in Starfield
If you don't want to spend skill points on Weight Lifting and have better gear to wear, you can also stash heavy things on your ship or have your current companions carry them for you. The latter option is very useful, especially during a quest or while exploring a planet, when you can't quickly access the ship.
How to check an item's weight in Starfield?
Every item (except for ammo) weighs something, and its weight can be checked in two ways:
- While picking it up - move the cursor over the item. This will display its weight and value.
- Entering the inventory - select an item to check how much does it weigh. You can also sort all items in your inventory by their weight.
