Some items are lying on the ground and can be added to your inventory without any consequences. Others, however, belong to specific people or places, so taking them with you would be considered theft. What do stolen items look like in Starfield?

As you traverse various places in the universe, you will often see a multitude of items worth picking up. Even if they are not useful to you, you can always sell them to make money. Unfortunately, not every item can be appropriated collected without any restrictions.

When you hover the camera over an object, you will notice information, e.g. how it works, its weight, and potential value. If, on the other hand, it has a red marker next to its name, it means that taking it will be considered theft. If you really want to do this, make sure no one is watching you. Being caught red-handed will make the guard quickly run up to you and punish your character.

Where to sell stolen items in Starfield?

Unfortunately, stolen goods are not so easy to sell. Usually when you trade with regular traders, you will not find items marked in red in the sell window. This happens because they do not buy such things.

If you are looking for traders who will gladly buy illegally obtained goods from you, it is worth going to Mars, and more specifically to Cydonia. There you will find two people whom you can sell stolen items. The first is Manaaki Almonte found in the Trade Authority.

The second person is also in Cydonia on Mars, and is called Denis Averin. His shop is located opposite the Trade Authority, to the right of the staircase. He buys supplies from UC, but also from "less legal" partners.

Stolen items and contraband can also be sold at the Crimson Fleet's space base called the Key. You will find it in the Kryx system. You will get there if you perform tasks for this faction (or for the Vanguards).
