Difficulty levels in Starfield
At the very beginning, you will have access to five difficulty levels. They are named in such a way to convey how demanding the gameplay will be. They are:
- Very easy,
- Easy,
- Normal,
- Hard,
- Very hard.
How to change the difficulty level in Starfield?
Choice of difficulty level is not so obvious. When you start the game, you don't have to select it, nor change it when creating your character. This feature is available from the very beginning in the game's main menu.
To change the difficulty level, you must first go to Settings, and then select the Gameplay tab. The first option from the top allows you to change how big of a challenge you want Starfield to be. Simply use the arrows or analog stick to select the appropriate level.
Changing the difficulty level is still possible in the game options. You can do this at any moment of the game, so if a specific opponent is giving you a hard time, don't be afraid to change the difficulty.
Does changing the difficulty level in Starfield affects achievements?
The answer is: No. Players can easily change the difficulty level during the game without risking that obtaining some achievements will become impossible. Moreover, in Starfield there are no achievements for completing the game on a specific difficulty level. You can get them all even on Very Easy.
