Starfield: Is an SSD required?
- Starfield requires an SSD even as part of its minimum requirements. Traditional HDDs are not officially supported.
- We do not know will the game install on an HDD. Using an HDD could cause huge problems with transferring content and prevent the game from running smoothly, even if you meet the CPU, RAM and GPU requirements.
Starfield: Will it run on Steam Deck?
- Starfield won't be verified to run on Steam Deck on its release day.
- This is due to high minimum system requirements. The device could struggle to make the game run even at 720p.
Starfield: Xbox Series X / S console versions
- On the Xbox Series X, Starfield runs in 4K and 30 frames per second. 4K is not a native resolution on the XSX.
- On the Xbox Series S, Starfield runs in 1440p and 30 frames per second.
- The console versions unfortunately don't support 60 FPS, so 30 is as high as it goes. It is possible some post-release performance patches could increase the number to 60.
