The Shotgun | The Sword Coast - Quests Risen 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Quest giver: Bartolo [#1]
This quest is part of: 4 Muskets Against Crow
A relatively long and interesting quest which is completed during the forming of the army against Captain Crow. The quest is given by Bartolo [#1] when you tell him you'd like to be a part of the special task force (see: 4 Muskets Against Crow). You can find him in the commandant's villa on the ground floor, in the room on the left.
Bartolo won't be able to fight for one good reason - he doesn't have a weapon. Last night, he was at a party with his buddies, and when he woke up, his shotgun was gone. Finding it is of course the main goal of this mission.
Start the investigation by interrogating him. It will soon turn out that Bartolo had been drinking at Webster's [#2] with his drinking buddy Eusebio [#3]. Go to the gunsmith's workshop in the center of the city to ask him about the party. He won't tell you anything new, so go to the other one, a guard watching the west entrance of Puerto Isabella.
The conversation with Eusebio proves much more fruitful. He'll tell you that there was another man at the party, Tito [#4]. Incidentally, it will also turn out that the guard owes some money to the butcher, namely 200 Gold. You will have two options:
- You can threaten him to get the information out. The condition is Intimidate at least at 45.
- You can help him pay off the debt. More information on this subject is in the Eusebio's Debts quest description.
Not matter whether you help or threaten Eusebio, you'll eventually find out that the last one to attend the party was Martinez. Depending on your previous encounters with the Inquisitor, he can be at four possible locations:
- If you haven't met him before, you can find him in the Valley of the Jaguar [#5].
- If you've encountered Martinez before, but decided not to hunt with him, he'll be inside the cavern [#6] west of the city (see: The Jaguar Cave).
- If you've successfully completed The Jaguar Cave quest, the Inquisitor will go back to Puerto Isabella and stay near the crane in the docks [#7].
- If you've recruited Martinez for the army, he'll wait for you near the upper city entrance [#8].
After a fruitful conversation with Martinez it'll become clear he's not the one behind the shotgun's theft. All pieces will come into place - the one to blame is Tito [#4]. Head to the center of the city to talk to the butcher. Show him the proof of his guilt (it doesn't matter if it's the full or the shortened version) and you'll have two options of getting the weapon back:
- The peaceful option assumes the use of Silver Tongue (difficulty: 40). Tito won't challenge you and will give up the weapon.
- The aggressive option will lead to a fight, which triggers another quest: Dance with Tito. Your job is to win. Afterwards, you'll get the shotgun back.
With Bartolos' shotgun in hand, go back to the commandant's villa and tell the owner of the gun of your success. The shotgun will require repairs, but Bartolo will take care of it himself. He'll go to the rendezvous point and the quest will be completed.
Rewards:
- 100 Glory points for completing the quest.
