Crow's Ship | The Sword Coast - Quests Risen 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Quest giver: Steelbeard [#1]
After you've killed the enemies in the observation tower (see: Defeat the Lookouts at the Tower), you can ask Steelbeard [#1] for his help in getting to two major human settlements on the Sword Coast - the city of Puerto Isabella, occupied by the Inquisition, or the Shaganumbi village. If you choose the former and tell the captain you're ready, the current quest will begin.
A few things for starters. The quest is actually divided into a couple of smaller missions completed in a specific sequence. During the trip, the pirate will be your guide and will lead the party. Every time you decide to stray of the path you won't be left behind, because Steelbeard will always patiently wait for your return. Patty, on the other hand, will stay close to you, which means you'll be able to use her in exploring other locations. Rewards for enemies killed by your companions will always go to your account.
The trip to the city consists of the following missions:
- To Puerto Isabella - begins automatically with the Crow's Ship mission. The journey takes only a short while, and its goal is to get from the pirates' tower [#1] to the clearing with Firebirds [#2].
- Firebird Hunt - the captain will make a correct observation that a few Firebirds are blocking the way to the bridge [#3], and they have to be killed. With Steelbeard's and Patty's help it won't be a problem. When all of them are dead, the game will score another quest (Firebirds Blocking the Bridge), and the pirate will approach the wooden footbridge.
- Over the Bridge - the party has to go to the other side of the bridge. A child's play.
- Farther South - after crossing the bridge, Steelbeard will suggest going south. A while later you'll reach a fork in the road [#4] and the captain will ask you to choose which way to go. There are two options: you can either go through a nearby cave (see: Through The Rat Cave), which the pirate will try to avoid at any cost, or head south-east (see: Farther Toward the Coast). The first option is more favorable because your companions can help you clear the cave out whatever lives there. What's more, when you leave the cave, you can resign from that route, go back to the fork and head for the coast instead (see: Back to the Beginning).
- Through The Rat Cave - here, the exploration of the cave [#5] begins, though it won't be long due to Steelbeard's constant undermining of the rightfulness of your decision. If you decide to go back, you'll trigger the Back to the Beginning quest. If you decide to be consistent and order the pirate to move forward, the game will activate the next quest.
- A Terrible Feeling - it's decided, you're going through the cave. The captain was right to smell trouble because a few meters later you'll be attacked by four Cave Bats. After eliminating them, head out [#6]. The pirate will once again suggest returning to the fork in the road - if you refuse, the quest will be completed. Otherwise you'll go back to the fork [#4].
- Back to the Beginning - activated automatically if, after entering the cave, you yield to Steelbeard's worries and decide to go back to the fork in the road [#4]. The game will trigger the next quest once you reach it.
- Farther Toward the Coast - the pirate will turn south-east and start to go round the mountain. Follow him. When you reach another wooden bridge [#7] the quest will be completed.
- The City Gate Is Not Far Off - the last effort. Steelbeard will take you straight to the north city gate, killing some enemies on the way. After reaching the last bridge [#8], the quest will be completed.
No matter where you finish the current quest, the effect will be the same: both the pirate and his daughter will go back to the pirates' tower [#1], leaving you to your business. You'll be forced to learn where the wanted ship is located all by yourself, but this is the plot of another quest - Where Is Crow's Ship?
Note! Once Steelbeard and Patty have reached the tower, you'll be able to take them on another trip - this time to the Shaganumbi village (see: The Natives).
Rewards:
- 100 Glory points for completing the quest.
