Quest giver: Sebastiano [#1] - The Lookouts Report - The Sword Coast - Quests - Risen 2: Dark Waters - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Quest giver: Sebastiano [#1]

This quest is part of: Help Against Crow

A complicated quest which will begin by talking to Commandant Sebastiano in the Inquisition's headquarters [#1]. The dialogue will reveal that a scout named Venturo had gone on patrol and hasn't been back yet. Your job is to find the man and bring him back to the city. The last person to have seen that brave soul is a guard, Aguilar, who can be found at the gates of Puerto Isabella [#2].

Talking to the guards is pure passing the buck.

When you talk to the guard, he'll send you to another military man, Torres [#3], who can be found near the Inquisition's tower. He'll tell you that Venturo had taken the path west, and you should be able to find him by signs he had left on the way. Climb down the mountain on which the tower is built, and turn left to go through a huge tunnel carved through the rock [#4]. You'll have to fight a Jaguar, a Firebird and several Claw Monkeys. Keep going forward until you reach the Earth Temple's turnpikes - this is where you should find the first sign left by Venturo [#5] (the below screen).

By clicking on it, you'll learn in which direction the man had gone. Each sign will lead you to another, so you shouldn't be lost. Follow Venturo's trail, killing Firebirds, Jaguars and Claw Monkeys on your way. You'll soon reach a river and a bluff which you should climb up [#6]. Eventually, you'll find Venturo standing just outside the Natives' village [#7]. Talk to him to receive the Among Savages quest, which is a part of The Lookout's Report.

And here is our lost one. - The Lookouts Report - The Sword Coast - Quests - Risen 2: Dark Waters - Game Guide and Walkthrough
And here is our lost one.

The Among Savages quest can be completed in three ways - each by choosing a specific dialogue option:

  • Jim [#8] - start the topic of the Shaganumbi tribe, and then ask about the "Tonkas".
  • Ranapiri [#9] - after a short chat, suggest that you would like to know something about the Earth Temple, and then simply ask why hadn't Ranapiri taken part in the expedition.
  • Kapua [#10] - talk to the shaman and go to straight to the point by asking how many men Crow has at his disposal.

When you go back to Venturo [#7] to pass him the obtained information, the Among Savages quest will end. You now have a choice - you can either go with the guardsman to the Earth Temple to take care of the Native supporters of Crow (see: Follow Venturo to the Temple), and then walk him back to the city (see: Follow Venturo to the City), or... ignore him completely and deal with the threat on your own. The second option is less favorable because it involves rejecting the two aforementioned quests, and therefore - loosing Glory points. It's better to agree to the guardsman's offer.

Venturo's help will be useful against enemies.

While following Venturo, you'll have to fight Warthogs met by the river [#11]. When you arrive at the Earth Temple [#12], the warrior will ask you what next. You can:

  • Help him kill Basil [#13] (see: Basil Is Dead!)
  • Go to Puerto Isabella (see: Follow Venturo to the City)
  • Enter the temple alone, sending Venturo back to the city (which cancels the Follow Venturo to Puerto Isabella quest and doesn't activate Follow Venturo to the City!)

The first option is the most profitable as it gets you the most number of Glory points and profits (the quest Follow Venturo to the City is also completed after killing Basil). You can also count on the soldier's help in fighting savages during The Warriors in Front of the Temple! quest [#14].

To end the quest nicely you also have to walk the scout back to the city. - The Lookouts Report - The Sword Coast - Quests - Risen 2: Dark Waters - Game Guide and Walkthrough
To end the quest nicely you also have to walk the scout back to the city.

Regardless of your choice, The Lookout's Report quest will end the moment Venturo is back in Puerto Isabella (doesn't matter if you were with him, or nor), and you report everything back to Commandant Sebastiano [#1]. Naturally, it's better to complete all of the miniquests, but it's completely optional.

Two things to sum up:

  • You don't have to start the quest at Sebastiano's - it you met Venturo before talking to his superior, the quest will be triggered upon finding the scout;
  • If you have decided against helping Venturo on the way to the Earth Temple and to Puerto Isabella, The Lookout's Report quest can be closed by reporting to Commandant Sebastiano. The number of Glory points will be the same.

Rewards:

  • 100 Glory points for completing the quest;
  • 100 Glory points for each Jaguar killed;
  • 100 Glory points for each Firebird killed;
  • 50 Glory points for each Claw Monkey killed;
  • 50 Glory points for each Warthog killed;
  • 50 Glory points for each Pirate killed;
  • 60 Glory points for each Warrior killed (involves The Warriors in Front of the Temple! quest).
