Quest giver: Chani [#1] - Free Tahana - The Sword Coast - Quests - Risen 2: Dark Waters - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Quest giver: Chani [#1]

This quest is part of: Help Against Crow

You receive this quest from the chieftain's daughter, Chani, after asking her why she opposes Bakir and Crow. She'll be shocked to hear that you even know about her rebellion, but won't deny your guesswork. In order to win her over to your side and convince her to fight the pirate, you need to gain her trust first - which is the goal of the present quest.

The tribe's scout, Tahana, has gone missing a while ago, during and expedition on the Inquisition's grounds. His mentor, the old hunter Ranapiri [#2], is the last person to have seen the young tribesman. Begin your search by talking to him. After exchanging a few words, he'll offer to help you. Agree and he'll show you to the place where Tahana should be located.

You can find Tahana in the Inquisition's tower.

The quest with Ranapiri is divided into three smaller tasks, each rewarded with 10 Glory points. Here's the list:

  • Follow Ranapiri into the Jungle - with several Claw Monkeys in your way;
  • Follow Ranapiri Farther Inland - with a couple of Warthogs, Termite Warriors and Firebirds in your way;
  • Follow Ranapiri to the Tower - with no surprises.

You don't have to do any fighting - Ranapiri is quite handy at it, and Glory points he collects go to your account. When you reach the tower [#3], though, the old man will leave you and you'll have to finish the task alone.

It's easy to miss the key.

Climb to the top of the mountain to enter the Inquisition's tower. You'll find Tahana in a cell. When you explain that you had been sent by Chani, he'll tell you that the key to the prison is somewhere nearby. Indeed, you can find it by the tower's entrance, in the bushes next to the palisade (see: the above screen). Pick up the Key and hand it to Tahana; he'll free himself and the escape will begin (see: Escape from the Tower). To be able to leave the place, you also need to have a little spar Torres. You should do fine with Tahana's help (his Glory points go to your account). Afterwards, head for the Shaganumbi village, and on the way complete several other quests:

  • The Search for the Idol - when you reach the jungle, Tahana will recall that he had hidden an idol nearby. Find it;
  • Shaganumbi Idol Found - the quest will be triggered and automatically completed when you spot the idol behind a tree and hand it to Tahana. Continue on your way;
  • Through the Jungle - a short run without too many surprises, as long as you've previously cleared the area of Claw Monkeys [#4];
  • Heading Back Home - the last of the miniquests; simply enter the Shaganumbi village.

When all stages of the quest are completed, report back to Chani [#1]. With Tahana safe in the village, the woman will be able to help to help you against Crow. The quest ends here.

Note! If you wish, you can skip the expedition with Ranapiri and free Tahana at once - though it involves loosing the Glory points you could get for the hunter's quests. You can't, however, free the Native without talking to Chani first - the prison key appears only when the Free Tahana quest has been activated.

Rewards:

  • 100 Glory points for completing the quest;
  • 100 Glory points for each Firebird killed;
  • 50 Glory points for each Claw Monkey killed;
  • 50 Glory points for each Warthog killed;
  • 75 Glory points for defeating Torres.
