Duel with Masaru | The Sword Coast - Quests Risen 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Quest giver: Masaru [#1]
This quest is part of: Crow's Ship
Masaru [#1] is a member of the Shaganumbi tribe who guards the entrance to the natives' village. There is only one way inside it, so meeting the warrior is inevitable. He won't be waiting for your move, so as soon as you approach him he'll start the conversation himself. In order to begin the duel, you'll have to insult him in the first conversation.
The native will respond in the following cases:
- If you tell him that you're looking for Crow and add that you're interested in a powerful weapon the captain allegedly possesses.
- If you lie that Crow had sent you and add that it's about desecrating tombs.
Masaru is a spearman, so naturally he prefers fighting from a distance. Adapt to his style and feed him lead. Don't worry about the spears he's throwing at you - simply move to the side when he prepares to the throw. When he falls, the quest will be completed and you'll be free to enter the village.
Note! If you lose the duel with Masaru, you won't fail the quest and you can still do it! Because the warrior won't want to talk to you again, you'll have to attack him and defeat him in a regular way. The trouble is that this act of violence will provoke other residents of the village who will automatically stand against you. If you don't want to fight with additional opponents, lure Masaru away from his post by a single shot from a distance, and take care of him far from the village. After completing the quest, no one will mind this ruthless attack.
Rewards:
- 100 Glory points from completing the quest;
- 75 Glory points for defeating Masaru.
