O'Brian's Treasure Map | Tacarigua - Quests Risen 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Quest giver: O'Brian [#1]
This quest is part of: O'Brian's Treasure
Drinking in the pirate tavern is O'Brian [#1], a sailor barely standing on his feet, who belongs to the crew of Captain Steelbeard [#2]. After a short chat you'll find out two important things. First, the pirate has recently buried a treasure and drawn a map leading to it; second - he'll be most glad to participate in a contest to drink as much liquor as fast as you can.
You can play the drinking game just for fun, or you can try to win some money (50 Gold). The most valuable reward is, however, the aforementioned map, and that's what the Nameless Hero should try to focus on. For the contest to begin, though, you have to put something in first, and O'Brian won't be satisfied with just anything.
There are three things you can give him: a monkey you probably won't be able to free on your first visit on the island, an earring belonging to Largo (Black pearl), or 500 Gold. The third option is definitely the best as it's not that difficult to acquire such a sum. Nonetheless, if you insist on the monkey, you should visit Flannigan [#3]. As for the Black pearl, you can steal it during The Clothes of a Pirate quest - all necessary information on how to do it are in the quest description.
When you agree on the stake, go to the innkeeper and buy a proper beverage. O'Brian wants to drink the most powerful one, the Painkiller - Booze sells one bottle for 150 Gold. With the liquor in hand, go back to your rival and tell him you're ready. The contest has a form of a mini-game - save before you begin.
You'll see a hand and a few bottles. The goal is to catch all the beverages so that your friend could drink them. You shouldn't move too rapidly because the bottle can fall and you'll have to start over. Additionally, try to aim at the neck of the bottle. It gets more difficult with each one, because the hand starts to shake and react slower to the way you move. The passing time is also a factor. The Nameless Hero has to deal with the alcohol before your rival drinks up his batch.
Note! If O'Brian wins, the quest will be cancelled and you can't repeat it! What's more, if you chose to put the earring in the pool, you won't be able to return the full set of clothes to Largo and therefore completing the quest The Clothes of a Pirate! This is a very high price for a defeat - try not to let it happen.
If you win, the quest will be successfully completed. O'Brian will give you the map thanks to which finding the treasure is extremely easy. But that's a topic for another quest - O'Brian's Treasure.
Rewards:
- 50 Glory points for completing the quest;
- Treasure map for completing the quest.
