STALKER 2: Should Kvashka be killed? A Sign of Hope
While in the base of the Noontide, you will come across the side quest A Sign of Hope. On this page we will give you tips on how to get to the roof of the base and whether or not to kill the zombie located there.

While visiting the former monoliths during the Hot on a Trail mission, you can activate an interesting task - A Sign of Hope. On this guide page, we will show you how to start it, the easiest way to get to the top of the antenna, what to do with the zombie on the roof, and how to get a new, better artifact scanner from the professor.
How to start A Sign of Hope mission?
When during the main story you get to the base on Wild Island, you will meet Lodochka. The professor resides in a large steel bunker to the southeast of the main base.
During one of the conversations, you can ask what's bothering him. The old man will then tell you the story of Kvashka, who activated the antenna on the roof of the base, which turned him into a mindless zombie.
The professor will ask you for help in turning off the antenna and ending Kvashka's suffering.
How to get to the antenna?
In our opinion, the easiest route to the antenna is around the building. Go around the complex from the eastern side, then enter the room with pipes.
Climb up the plank to the staircase, then jump across the pipes to the other side of the room.
Outside, walk around the building. You will find yourself under the antenna tower (though not the one you have to deactivate).
Climb the tower and then jump onto the building. If you don't want to kill Kvashka, quickly climb the ladder on the left. Otherwise, you can kill the zombie.
Deactivate the antenna by pulling the lever. You can carefully descend from the roof by jumping down the stairs on the left.
Return to the professor and report on the mission.
Kill or spare the zombie?
During the climb to the roof, one of the island's residents will contact you. Khors will ask you to spare Kvashka's life, claiming that there is still hope to save him.
- If you decide to kill Kvashka, neither the professor nor Khors, who is contacting you via radio, will hold a grudge against you. As a reward for completing the task, the professor will give you a new, improved artifact scanner.
- If you spare the zombie on the roof, the professor will still give you the scanner. Additionally, you can go to Khors (located in the base) and receive an additional reward in the form of coupons.
