We have waited years for the continuation of the Stalker series. Now, after 15 years, we can enjoy Stalker 2. A new, dark vision of the adventures in Chornobyl Exclusion Zone is here. However, before you start the game, you will have to compile shaders. Many players are puzzled by this, as it takes a long time and you have to do this every time you log into the game. Of course, it can be a source of various problems.

Shader Compilation in Stalker 2 Is Problematic

Compiling shaders is something natural and common nowadays. Some titles prefer to do it during the gameplay, others before it. Theoretically, only the first attempt should be the long one, the next approaches will be much shorter. Thanks to that, your in-game experience will be much smoother, without stutters (or with their smaller number), but it costs. In this case, the price is the long loading at the beginning of Stalker 2. Of course, it can be problematic itself, as some games crashed often during this process. However, it seems that the Zone is mostly free of this issue.

In the case of Stalker 2, compiling seems to start each time you launch the game. Luckily, as it was stated, it is not as long as the first one, but it is still there, which might be troublesome for many players. So, be prepared for that.

If you want to learn more about the game while you are waiting for shaders to compile, read our Stalker 2 Guide. We have prepared a walkthrough and a map. You can see it below. Have fun.
