During the The Boundary mission, Skif will head north, towards Pripyat. On his way there, he will visit the Yaniv station and follow the trail of a stalker nicknamed Spirit, who may help him get into the city. On this page, we will give you tips on how to survive a massive monolithians attack, where to look for Spirit, and how to get to Pripyat using the scanner.

How to stop attack on Yaniv station?

The Boundary mission will start immediately after the end of the Escape from the Cage quest or Dangerous Liaisons (Ward path).

The Yaniv station is located north of the Red Forest. Upon arrival, head straight to the store, in the left wing of the main building.

There, the leader - Dmytro, will approach you. When asked about Spirit, he will direct you to the stalker sitting in the water tower. Head towards the marker.

As soon as you leave the main building, the Yaniv station will be attacked by monolithians. Your task will be to help the soldiers repel the attack.

  1. Use ranged weapons. If you approach the enemies too closely, you might easily fall to their greater numbers.
  2. Use the covers set up in the courtyard when you want to reload or heal.
  3. Do not stand in the line of fire between the attacking and defending soldiers.
  4. Be careful who you shoot at. In the heat of battle, you may accidentally shoot an allied soldier (the attire of both groups is quite similar).

After defeating the monolithians, head to the water tower. At the very top, a drunk Richter will be waiting for you. Talk to him.

During the game, we encountered a bug that prevented us from talking to Richter. In our case, loading the game save from before the fight with the monolithians and waiting a moment before entering the water tower helped.

Richter will send you to the western edge of the map, in the Red Forest region.

Where to look for Spirit?

When you approach the point marked on the map, the commander of the mercenary unit will call you on the radio. He will ask you for help in repelling the attack of the monolithians. Be careful, because some cultists are standing on distant cliffs.

Defeat the attackers, then talk to the leader. When asked about Spirit, he will send you to the tunnel behind him.

In the tunnel, you will find a wounded, dying Spirit. At first, the hesitant stalker will open up when you mention Strelok. He will give you a card, thanks to which you will get into the Spark bunker.

The bunker is located nearby, on the border of regions.

Inside, a small unit of Wards will be waiting for you. Defeat them, and then open the locked door using the access card.

Take the scanner off the desk.

How to get to Pripyat?

After acquiring the scanner, you have two possible ways to get to Pripyat:

  1. You can return to Yaniv station and in exchange for the scanner, get access to the closed zone.
  2. Alternatively, you can use the scanner to access the city via the tunnel near the massive anomaly.

In this walkthrough, we decided to use the second option.

Head towards the Tornado anomaly, west of Yaniv station. You will recognize it by the huge pillar of air.

Enter the facility from the south side. Wait until the anomaly moves away a bit, then quickly slip into the tunnel, sticking to the edge of the fenced area.

Enter the tunnel and position the scanner in the specified location. Wait until the device finishes working and neutralizes most of the dangerous anomalies from the tunnel.

Go through the tunnel, throwing bolts at the remaining anomalies.

Reach the mission objective in the southern part of the city. When you do this, the mission will come to an end.
