Stalker 2 is an upcoming survival open world FPS, which takes place in the Zone. It is a mysterious area surrounding Chernobyl, which is governed by different rules than the rest of the world. Let’s compare it to wild magic, which can kill the player, if they are reckless. Of course, it is not the only danger which awaits us in this world. So, no wonder that many people would like to collaborate with others. Will you be able to? Is there a multiplayer mode? Let’s find out.

Multiplayer in Stalker 2 explained

It seems that multiplayer is not top priority for developers from GSC Game World. Why do we think that? This mode will be in the game, but not at launch. It will be added later, after the premiere. When precisely? From the official FAQ we can learn that “soon after the release”. So, we have to be patient.

Coop or PvP in Stalker 2

We know that multiplayer will be implemented into Stalker 2, in what form, though? At this point developers from GSC Game World do not reveal much about this mode. It is quite concerning and at the same time intriguing, taking into consideration that the game will be released in 2 days, and for some people multiplayer may be a selling point.

We know one for certain – there will be no coop. How do we know that? There is a post on the official Discord server answering a question about multiplayer (in the section called GSC answers), which states it clearly. It means that we should expect some kind of PvP mode only. Sadly, we don’t know anything more than that. Based on the previous games from the series, we can expect the team vs team variant. Who knows, maybe developers will include battle royale, too. At this point, it is only guessing, though.
