During the Legends of the Zone quest, you will come into contact with Sidorovich - a trader from the Cordon. Next, you and Dark will head to the abandoned X3 laboratory, where information needed to find Strelok may be hidden. On this guide page, we will give you tips on how to snatch the decoder from the hands of bandits and how to defeat the pseudogiant rampaging in X3.

How to recover the decoder for Sidorovich?

The Legends of the Zone mission will start immediately after the end of the An Act of Mercy quest. Head to the Sidorovich's bunker in the Cordon region. Similar to the first part of the series, it is located west of the Rookie Village.

Talk to the merchant and accept from him the mission of recovering the decoder. The bandits' camp is located northeast of the village.

If you didn't kill Roosevelt during the King of the Hill quest, he will contact you via radio when you approach the camp. Go inside and talk to him. He will agree to give you the decoder without any bloodshed.

If Roosevelt is dead, the bandits will attack you as soon as you approach. Defeat them and retrieve a package from one of their bodies for Sidorovich.

Go back to Sidorovich and show him the decoder. The trader will instruct you to ask the local stalkers for information about the X3 laboratory.

Where to find Dark?

The necessary information will be provided to you by someone named Wolf. He hangs out in the technician's building, in the southern part of the Rookie Village.

Wolf will recommend you to get in touch with a guy named Dark. You will find him in the tunnel, east of the settlement.

Two mercenaries will approach you before you enter the facility. They will let you pass if you say you are looking for Dark, but they will turn against you shortly afterward.

Defeat the entire mercenary unit located in the tunnel. Next, enter one of the side rooms and talk to Dark.

The man will offer you to go to the X3 together. Before departing, he will insist on retrieving an important item from a nearby stash.

Where to find Dark's stash?

The Dark's stash is located in a tunnel under the railway tracks.

Inside, there are many electrical anomalies that you can temporarily neutralize with bolts. The Dark backpack is located inside a concrete cylinder. Take the device and supplies from it.

We recommend that you exit the tunnel the same way you entered. On the other side of the tunnel, a horde of rodents is waiting.

How to enter the X3 laboratory and defeat the pseudogiant?

The entrance to the X3 laboratory is located north of the tunnel. Enter inside, taking care to avoid anomalies at the entrance.

Talk to Dark. Then destroy the boards covering the entrance to the ventilation. Go through the shaft.

Activate the lever on the control panel. When Dark fails to open the rusted doors, go to the other end of the room and use the decoder to open the large hatch.

The mechanism won't work the first time, but it will attract snorks. Defeat the mutants and use the decoder once again.

Continue your journey through the corridors of X3. Go down the steel stairs, then turn left.

Bloodsuckers will attack you in the room with cylinders. Deal with the mutants, and then proceed to the lower level of the laboratory.

In a flooded room with containers:

  1. Go through the tilted container in the middle.
  2. Jump over to the adjacent containers, and then reach the top of the central container.
  3. Jump to the container on the other side of the room.
  4. Climb up to the floor by the wall.

Activate the switch on the control console. Then go through the red-lit doors. Jump through the hole in the wall into the large hangar.

A battle with a pseudogiant awaits you there. Here are some tips on fighting this mutant:

  1. Don't stand between the mutant and Dark, who is shooting from the balcony. He can easily hit you.
  2. Use the exploding barrels scattered around the arena.
  3. Hide behind obstacles and generally try to "outmaneuver" the mutant.
  4. A pseudogiant occasionally hits the ground with a jump. Beware of this attack, because it knocks Skif off balance.
  5. Use explosive, for instance, grenades.

After defeating the monster, wait until Dark comes down. Talk to him.

Behind the next door awaits a longer narrative sequence, during which you will meet Strelok - a legendary stalker and the protagonist of the first part of the game.

After the conversation is over, go through the next rooms and emerge onto the surface.

The ladder will lead you to a lushly overgrown oasis. Enter the lonely cottage and take the cartridge from the device located there.

After another conversation with Strelok, the mission will come to an end.
