STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl was awaited by many. After years, players at last can test the title. However, the game has many performance issues and numerous bugs. Developers do not abandon the title, though, and they have released a huge update to fix the game. Sadly, it seems that not all players are happy about that, as some of them report that the patch causes crashes.

Crashes after Stalker 2 Update

Soon after the release of the patch, a long thread appeared on the Steam forum with players reporting crashes after downloading the latest update. It seems that for some, it broke the game. According to comments, the patch is causing issues even for people who did not encounter them before.

Sadly, in the case of so big updates, there can be many causes of such issues. However, you should start solving them by uninstalling / deactivating all mods. It is a common issue that after a big patch, modifications do not work and cause problems.

Some players state that they do not have mods, though. It would point to the fact that the update introduced new issues. It would not be the first time in gaming history (or the last), so we would not be surprised. However, we need to wait a little bit with the final opinion until more players download the game.

One thing is sure, while the update is huge, developers from GSC Game World have some more work to do in the future. Let’s hope that today’s patch will solve more issues than cause.
