Behind Seven Seals is a long and multi-part main story quest. It involves looking for Solder, who may know something more about the stolen detector. On this page of the guide, we will tell you how to find the shady technician and how to get him to talk.

Who can provide information about Solder?
You will receive the Behind the Seven Seals quest immediately upon arrival in Zalissya and after completing of the quest A Tough Awakening. Talk to the bartender, Warlock, standing behind the counter in the green bar building.
Ask Warlock about work too. If you help get rid of the bandits in the Warlock's Debtor quest, you will receive a very good rifle with a scope.
When asked about Solder, he will point you to one of two people:
- You can go to the older man nicknamed Gaffer. He lives in a small house in the eastern part of the city. He's a gentle person, known for helping inexperienced stalkers.
- The alternative is to go to Captain Zotov. The leader of the local guards is ready to reveal some information in exchange for a favor. The Ward resides in a large building in the western part of the city.
Choosing one of the informants will slightly change the course of the entire quest. Once you talk to one of them, you will not be able to obtain information from the other. In this walkthrough, we will focus on gathering information with the help of Gaffer.
Enter the brick house in the eastern part of the settlement (next to the technician's workshop). Inside you will meet Richter and Gaffer. The men will agree to reveal information about Solder, but first they will need help activating the nearby antennas and locating a certain Squint.
A Needle in a Haystack
After speaking with Richter and Gaffer, you will receive the quest A Needle in a Haystack. In that quest, you will follow the trail of Squint. Completing this mission is necessary to progress in the Behind Seven Seals quest. A detailed description of the A Needle in a Haystack quest can be found on a separate page of our guide. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with it and then come back here.
Abandoned communication center
After solving the Squint problem, Richter and Gaffer will reveal that Solder is a technician working for the IPSF organization. To contact him, it will be necessary to infiltrate a facility known as the Sphere. Richter will then guide you towards the abandoned communication center, where you will obtain the access code to the Sphere.
The communication center is located southeast of Zalissya. Once there, you will spot the entrance to the underground surrounded by twisted, concrete slabs. The entrance is riddled with gravity anomalies, so walk carefully and keep your bolts at the ready.
Enter the underground structure and find a large room half-flooded with water. In one of the side rooms you will find the corpse of Private Schneider. Take the PDA, from which you will learn the code to the tunnels leading under Sphere - 2765.
Quickly leave the underground. In the area, there is a psionic poltergeist that will start throwing various objects at you using telekinesis. Try to jump away from incoming projectiles whenever possible.
Infiltrating the Sphere
The Sphere is located at the end of the road leading to the southeast. Try not to get too close to the walls - the guards on the towers may notice you and open fire.
The secret entrance to the tunnels is located north of the Sphere. You will know its location thanks to the marker on the map.
Run through the tunnel with poisonous anomalies as quickly as possible. Enter the combination 2765 On the keypad next to the door and go inside.
There are lots of mutant rats hanging around near the pipes. Fighting them is quite troublesome. Before going up the ladder, we recommend you to throw a few grenades at the monsters, which should kill most of the troublesome opponents.
Continue through the sewers until you reach a large warehouse with soldiers inside. Defeat them, then go through the door next to the truck.
In one of the next rooms, you will meet Solder. During the long cutscene, the man will reveal to you several important pieces of information. At the end of the conversation you will also be given the choice to either kill or stun him. In this playthrough, we decided to spare the technician's life.
Continue your journey through the halls of the Sphere. On the way, you will encounter other groups of IPSF mercenaries. Make your way up the stairs until you reach the surface.
Leave the Sphere as quickly and silently as possible. Soldiers in the area will attack you as soon as they notice you.
Emission
As you return to Zalisia, an emission will descend upon the area - a type of insanely dangerous storm in the Zone. Go down to the underground shelter in the southern part of the settlement.
Talk to Gaffer. The man will hand you a key, with which you will pass through the northern checkpoint and leave the Lesser Zone.
Leaving the Lesser Zone
Once the emission ends, you can exit the bunker and head north along the road towards the checkpoint.
To cross the region border, enter the door to the building next to the gate, then jump out the window onto the collapsed bridge.
The bridge is filled with anomalies. Use bolts to temporarily deactivate them. After crossing the bridge you will find yourself in a new region and the mission will end.
