Last update: 23 August 2023
Divine Intervention is a powerful class ability available for Cleric on level 10. It has several different effects, and using it is pretty heavily restricted. This page will help you understand and make the most of this ability.
When can you use the Divine Intervention ability?
As we've mentioned in the introduction, Divine Intervention is available to the hero who has invested 10 levels in the Cleric class. However, what is important: this ability can only be used just once. This means that once used, it permanently disappears from the hero's abilities panel. That is why it is so important to pick up the perfect moment to use it to make the best of it.
Divine Intervention - available effects
Divine Intervention might have one of 4 effects:
- Cleric receives a powerful, legendary mace dealing 1d6 6 (bludgeoning) 1d8 (radiant) damage. This weapon also lets you use a bonus action, in which the Cleric and surrounding allies regain 1d4 hit points at the beginning of the Cleric's turn (the effect lasts 10 turns). The weapon remains in the hero's possession permanently;
- As part of the action, nearby enemies receive 8d10 light damage;
- A Cleric and his team are granted a significant amount of useful potions and camp supplies;
- Nearby fallen allies return to life with half of their maximum hit points. Those who still live return to full health as if they just had a long rest.
So as you can see, the range of available options is vast, and in certain situations, this ability may turn out to be a lifesaver.
The most impressive may be the effects associated with obtaining the legendary mace and healing allies. The first effect gives a Cleric permanent access to a useful weapon. The second one can be a lifeline during a challenging confrontation with a strong opponent or boss.
