Tavern Brawler is a feat available for a character to choose when reaching levels 4, 8, and 12. It provides a range of bonuses, and it can prove to be extremely useful in builds for some classes. The following page describes how the mentioned feat works and how to use its potential to the maximum.
How does Tavern Brawler feat works?
The Tavern Brawler is a feat intended for characters based primarily on the Strength stat. When your character uses an unarmed attack, improvised weapon, or throws something, the strength modifier will be counted twice. This applies to both attack rolls and damage rolls.
Additionally, you will receive a +1 bonus to Strength or Constitution stats.
How to use Tavern Brawler feat?
The Tavern Brawler can be extremely useful for several character builds.
The bonus that provides the above-mentioned advantage will prove to be extremely useful when creating a Monk build based on Strength. A melee-attacking unarmed hero with a considerable Strength modifier is almost the perfect match for this feat.
Another interesting application of Tavern Brawler feat is to use it with the Barbarian class (especially the Berserker subclass). A currently popular build among players is a hero who throws enemies and items such as a spear. In such a case, the Tavern Brawler can help you deal additional damage.
Another popular use for the feat is the Circle of the Moon Druid build. The hero's attacks, performed in animal form, count by the game as unarmed attacks. For this reason, they also activate the bonus from the Tavern Brawler feat.
Online players report that in the current version of the game, the Tavern Brawler bonus for the wild form of the Druid only applies to attack rolls, not damage. This effect is likely a game bug, and there is a chance that the developers will fix it in one of the upcoming updates.
