Subtitles
Baldur's Gate 3 offers 9 language versions to choose from. The option to change the language to your liking is very important, as this is the largest game from Larian studios will an incredible amount of written text. By changing the language, you'll not only be able to understand what is going on in the conversation but also understand all important mechanics and be able to correctly find your way around the interface and issue commands to your party.
Here is a list of supported text-only language versions:
- English,
- French,
- German,
- Polish,
- Spanish,
- Simplified Chinese,
- Turkish,
- Brazilian Portugese,
- Russian.
Dubbing
- Unfortunately, Baldur's Gate 3 offers only 1 voice-acting language. This language is English. The game doesn't support any other languages for voice acting. It was the case with the previous games from Larian, including the previous fully-fledged RPG Divinity Original Sin II.
- The developers have a solid explanantion as to why there are no other full language versions. The game absolutely crushes with the ambundance of heroes and various fully-voiced dialogues. We are told that during development as much as 170 hours of audio material was created. This means one of the largest RPG productions in the history of this genre and translating all this content into another language would kill with the amount of time and money required.
