If you decide to play as a Wizard in Baldur's Gate 3, you should take interest in races that have bonus to Intelligence, Constitution, or even Dexterity. Also, there are additional skills offered by individual races, which can further enrich your character's playing style.

• Half-Elf
• Tiefling
• Human

Elf

Elves are one of the more popular races available in Baldurs Gate 3 because they greatly fit Wizard's traits, especially with the High Elf sub-class.

1. Race Bonus: +2 to dexterity;
2. High-Elf sub-class: +1 to Intelligence;
3. Keen Senses: the hero is proficient in Perception;
4. Fey Ancestry: the hero will have an advantage during saving throws against charms, and the magic can't put them to sleep;
5. Darkvision: the hero can see in the dark within a radius of 12 meters.

Half-Elf

Halfelfs combine the best qualities of Elves and humans, and for this reason they do well in the role of Mage.

1. Race Bonus: +2 to Charisma;
2. Race Bonus: 2 additional trait points to divide. Up to one point can be added to one trait. You should pick 1 to intelligence and 1 to constitution;
3. Darkvision: the character can see in the dark within a radius of 12 meters;
4. Fey Ancestry: the character will have advantage in defense tests against charms and magic won't be able to put him or her to sleep.

Tiefling

Tiefling is another race available in Baldurs Gate 3 that fits the Wizard class well due to its Intelligence bonus and very useful passive abilities.

1. Race bonus: +1 to Intelligence, +2 to Charisma;
2. Hellish Resistance: the character gains fire resistance - all received fire damage is halved;
3. Darkvision: the hero can see in the dark within a radius of 12 meters.

Human

Humans are probably the most versatile race available in Baldurs Gate 3 so it will work well as a warrior. Human receives a +1 bonus to every attribute available in the game.
