When deciding to play as Cleric in Baldur's Gate 3, you should definitely pay attention to the races that have a bonus to the relevant qualities, such as Wisdom, Constitution, even Strength or Dexterity. Also, there are additional skills offered by individual races, which can further enrich your character's playing style.
Dwarf
The dwarf is an ideal race for a Cleric in Baldurs Gate 3, as he is extremely durable and provides this class with additional valuable bonuses, especially as a Gold Dwarf subrace.
- Race Bonus: Constitution 2;
- Gold Dwarf subrace: +1 Wisdom ;
- Dwarven Toughness: your hero's maximum health points increase by 1 and will increase by 1 with each experience level unlocked;
- Dwarven Resilience: the character is given the opportunity to defend himself against Poison and gains immunity to poison;
- Darkvision: the character can see in the dark within a radius of 12 meters;
Elf
Elves are one of the most popular races available in Baldurs Gate 3 and fit perfectly with the Cleric character class, especially with the Wood Elf subclass.
- Race Bonus: +2 to dexterity;
- Wood Elf subrace: +1 Wisdom;
- Fleet of Foot: your hero's base walking speed is 10.5 metres;
- Mask Of The Wild: proficiency in sneaking;
- Keen Senses: the hero is proficient in Perception;
- Fey Ancestry: the hero will have an advantage during saving throws against charms, and the magic can't put them to sleep;
- Darkvision: the hero can see in the dark within a radius of 12 meters.
Half-Elf
Half-elves combine the best qualities of Elves and humans, and it is for this reason that they do well as Clerics.
- Race Bonus: +2 to Charisma;
- Race Bonus: 2 additional trait points to divide. Up to one point can be added to one trait. Best pick 1 to wisdom and 1 for constitution;
- Darkvision: the character can see in the dark within a radius of 12 meters;
- Fey Ancestry: the character will have advantage in defense tests against charms and magic won't be able to put him or her to sleep.
Human
Humans are probably the most versatile race available in Baldurs Gate 3 so they will work well as Clerics. Human receives a +1 bonus to every attribute available in the game.
