In Baldurs Gate 3, the mechanic of inspiration is present - it's about the actions related to the origins of the team members. In our guide, we explain how to find out about gaining inspiration points, how to review unlocked inspirations, and how to devote inspiration to repeating failed skill tests.
Inspiration menu and actions increasing inspiration
- While playing the game, you may receive messages that a certain team member is inspired (is Inspired). In the example from the picture, this type of message relates to the Laezel character.
- The inspiration tab is associated with similar messages. You can quickly summon her by pressing the P key or switching to her in the main menu windows.
- Inspiration can be gained by all party members, including our hero. The game can reward you for performing actions related to the origin of a given hero. In the case of ready-made characters, the origin is already chosen, while creating your own character, you can choose an origin for it.
- In the example from the picture, Laezel received 1 inspiration point for winning the battle in front of the Druid's Grove without any losses among the grove's residents. Actions rewarded with inspiration can therefore be treated to as challenges or hidden rewards. The game doesn't inform in advance that a certain activity can lead to an increase in inspiration.
- You can accumulate a maximum of 4 inspiration points at the moment. Next successful actions related to the origin of the hero will only be rewarded with XP.
How to spend accumulated inspiration?
- Limitation of maximum inspiration means that you should regularly spend the inspiration points you have. Avoid travelling all the time with Inspiration 4.
- Inspiration is dedicated in tests of ability and skills. If a given test ends as a failure (the dice rolled a lower value than required), the game may allow for a re-roll.
- A re-roll of the dice means sacrificing 1 inspiration point. Of course, there is no guarantee that the second test will be successful and you may find yourselves in a situation where you waste your inspiration. It's worth saving the game before each test as much as possible.
