While playing Rise of the Ronin, you may want to fast-forward the time, e.g. to be able to start an activity available only at a specific time of day. On this page of our guide, we show how to adjust the time of day and at what point of the game this option becomes available.

How to unlock the option to adjust the time of the day?
- The world of Rise of the Ronin is governed by a complete 24-hour day and night cycle, but the passage of time is rather slow, taking minutes rather than seconds. Waiting for a time of day to change is tedious, so you may want to adjust it to make the transition faster.
- During the Follow Your Blade Twin story quest, you'll unlock a Longhouse in Yokohama - your first home.
- To change the time of day, after opening the longhouse menu, choose Relax category and then Rest option.
- Additionally, after your first visit to the longhouse, you'll receive a Pocket Watch from Ryoma.
- You can bring up the watch in the inventory menu or place it in one of the 4 quick-select slots to equip it with a single press of a button. The watch not only allows you to check the current time, but also fast-forwards the time on demand.
- Regardless of the chosen method of adjusting the time, you'll be able to choose the time of day to which you want to switch e.g. morning, midday, or night.
What is the difference between night and day?
- You may want to change the time of day for a variety of reasons, but the most important of them are activities and secrets of limited availability.
- Some Photograph opportunities and Photography challenges may only be available at a given time of day. In the example from the screenshot, examining the crime scene can only be done at night.
- Changing the time of day may also be required to catch certain Fugitives. Some of them aren't found at the same location for the entire 24 hours.
- In the example from the screenshot above, you can read that the Fugitive in question can only be caught after dark.
