Kimenzan the Crusher is a large boss in Rise of the Ronin. This page of the guide explains how to unlock the boss fight in the mission Infiltrate the Prison Complex (a Master Shoin's quest), how to avoid Kimenzan's strong attacks and how to defeat the boss.
Where is the boss?
- The confrontation takes place at the end of the prison exploration as part of the mission Infiltrate the Prison Complex - it is part of a larger quest Those Who Know Shoin.
- You need to gain access to the inner part of the prison. When you try to open the passage to the cell where Master Shoin is to be imprisoned, a large boss will appear.
How to fight Kimenzan the Crusher?
- First, determine the optimal combat style for fighting this boss, depending on the type of weapon used. Don't let red arrows (indicating incorrect style) to appear next to Kimenzan's health bar.
- Kimenzan initially uses a large club-shaped weapon. His attacks are not very fast, but they have a considerable range, which makes them difficult to dodge, so try to parry them. However, be careful, because some sequences may end with a red attack. You must stop it flawlessly or decide to dodge anyway.
- Another very dangerous red attack of the boss is a quick forward movement combined with an attempt to catch the hero. If you can't avoid this attack, the boss will hit you hard with his weapon and you won't be able to do anything about it.
- Kimenzan can stop using melee weapons during the fight and perform a series of melee attacks - they are regular attacks, but the series always ends with a red attack and you need to be ready for it.
- The other attacks with no use of weapons involve the boss lunging forward (here quickly dodge to the side) and strongly hitting the ground (red attack).
- Use the support of your companions to attack the boss when he is facing a different direction or to switch to another character in a high-danger situation.
