Interesting places are photo studio missions from the game Rise of the Ronin. This guide page explains how to unlock photo assignments and where to score interesting places in the Yokohama, Edo and Kyoto regions.

One of the optional activities in Rise of the Ronin is finding Scenes of Interest and capturing them with your camera. On this page of our guide we provide locations of all Scenes of Interest appearing in Yokohama, Edo, and Kyoto regions. You will find out how to initiate the challenges and what objects/characters to photograph.

Unlocking the photographic studio and accepting commissions

The first photographic studio, one located in Yokohama, will be made available for you after progressing enough in the main story. This happens during Locating the Camera story mission. From now on, you can visit the studio inside the town.

Edo and Kyoto regions also have their own Photographic Studios, which can be visited once the story allows it - all you have to do is to find the marker for this location on the world map. The idea behind these types of activities is the same, but you'll have different objectives with each one.

Scenes of Interest are photography challenges that you can receive from the employees of the photographic studios. These work similarly to side quests, with them having their own objectives and prizes awarded for their completion (e.g. rare crafting ingredients, equipment, gifts).

Scenes of Interest activities aren't canceled when the current region is changed for the next one. This means you can take them on as they appear, or leave the activity for the endgame phase i.e. after completion of the main story.

Camera Obscura (Yokohama)

You need to reach a farm in Maita.

Your task is to photograph the meeting. Reach the marked building (several markers will appear, but only one is correct), climb the scaffolding, place yourself by the window, and take a photo of the meeting participants.

Canine Catcher (Yokohama)

Reach the yellow circle in the Sodeguara zone.

Your task is to find and photograph 4 dogs. Search the entire designated area - most of the dogs are on the hill / in the forest, with one of them being on the beach.

Scene of the Crime (Yokohama)

This challenge can only be completed at night. Use the pocket watch or return to the long house to change the time of day. Reach the marked area in Tobe.

You need to photograph the leaders of the outfit and we recommend sneaking to remain undetected. The characters you need to photograph are in one of the buildings of the farm.

A Chilling Site (Yokohama)

This challenge can only be completed at night. Use the pocket watch or return to the long house to change the time of day. Travel to Hiranuma-Shinden.

The person that you need to photograph is the one kneeling before the altar - sneak up to him to reach the required distance and take the correct photo.

Drunk Wrangler (Edo)

Reach Kyobashi in city of Edo.

You have to take a photo of a drunk person lying on the ground. There are several such individuals in the area and the attached image shows the sought right one.

House Fire (Edo)

Go to the burning building in Ushigome.

There are a few bandits nearby that may interrupt your attempts to take the photo and in such case, you need to deal with them first. With the area clear, photograph the burning building.

The Situation on the Ground (Edo)

Head to Yotsuya.

Your job is to photograph the groups of sick people. There are a total of 3 groups, located in various parts of the household. After taking the photographs, you can defeat bandits or run away.

A Murder Scene (Edo)

This challenge can only be completed at night. Use the pocket watch or return to the long house to change the time of day. Head to the Senzoku area.

There are 2 different photos to be taken. First you need to find a dying geisha in the village.

You need to track the killer without being detected. You'll be taken to a nearby bandit camp. Sneak in and take a photo of the bandit leader (screenshot above).

In the Sink of an Eye (Edo)

This task is unlocked only after developing Underwater Photography technology.

You can purchase this invention in the Technology Development menu, but only after delivering enough Foreign Books.

The task requires you to take 2 shots in Tanakawa area.

For the first photo, the said Undewater Photography technology is needed. You need to dive and photograph the shipwreck on the bottom.

The second picture must show the belongings of the ship's captain. For this, you need to reach a nearby shrine - you can approach it from the beach.

Choshu Pursuer (Kyoto)

This challenge involves 3 photographs in 3 different locations around the city - you can view the circles marking them on Kyoto's map.

After entering each of the circles, you need to locate enemy camps and defeat all enemies found inside. Photograph the corpses of leaders of each group.

Crab Nab (Kyoto)

You need to travel to Shirakawa and find a cave entrance shown in the screenshot above.

Inside the cave, there will be a elite enemy to deal with. With the area cleared, you can photograph the area with the crabs (screenshot above).

Sleepless Nights (Kyoto)

This challenge can only be completed at night. Use the pocket watch or return to the long house to change the time of day. Reach the southern end of Horikawa. You'll see exploding fireworks - go to the area from they were launched.

Start by removing the opponents in the area. With the area cleared, photograph the civilian operating the fireworks.
