In Rise of the Ronin, some of the battle sequences may prove to be difficult, and this is when you may search for a way to lower the challenge level to avoid being stuck and having to constantly repeat a problematic segment. On this page of our guide, you will find information regarding available difficulty levels (3 in total), how and where can you change it during the game, as well as how to enable additional settings related to difficulty.

Choosing the difficulty level

As you initiate the campaign of Rise of the Ronin, one of the steps will be choosing a difficulty level from 3 possible. These are:

  1. Dawn - this is the lowest difficulty level. Its assumption is to make combat less demanding so the player can focus more on the story without having to constantly repeat sequences which may ruin the pacing of the narrative.
  2. Dusk - this is the default normal difficulty level. The battles in this setting may prove to be challenging, especially for players who don't handle fast-paced combat well and/or aren't experienced with the soulslike genre. To be able to match the challenge of this difficulty level, you need to master the basics of combat (countering, dodges, healing, matching Combat Styles to the enemy) well, and even then, sometimes certain fragments of the game such as tougher battles may produce problems.
  3. Twilight - this is the highest difficulty level, recommended only for more experienced players. On this setting, even simpler missions may be hard to comlpete. Battling bosses will require flawless execution of actions and excellent mastery of every aspect of the combat system.
