Blade Twin is the final boss that you must face in the finale of Rise of the Ronin. On this guide page, you will find tips on how to best prepare for the duel. We also break down recurring and new types of attacks of the Blade Twin, the final battle against whom will take place during Veiled Edge story mission.

Preparing for the final battle

1. At the end of Act 3, a new story quest will be initiated - Before the Dawn. During it, you'll meet with Katsu Kaishu and during the conversation you can express your desire to defeat the Blade Twin for good - this will begin the last story mission of the game - Veiled Edge.
2. Do not proceed until your hero is developed enough. The mission's recommended level is 50. Try to reach at least the recommended level e.g. by completing side quests and activities. Also, equip your best armor and make sure that you have a full supply of healing items.

1. With the task initiated, you'll be taken to a new location. You can use the occasion to say goodbye to a few allies who appeared there as well.
2. In the next conversation with Katsu, confirm your readiness for the final fight - you will watch several cutscenes and the fight with the final boss will begin.

Winning the clash with the final boss

1. The final battle is a one-on-one battle - no help from companions this time. It is worth remembering this during the fight, and making sure to heal the hero in advance when the opportunity appears as well as avoid running out of Ki. In case of falling during the battle, there will be no one to resurrect you, which means going straight to the game over screen.
2. During this battle, Blade Twin can imbue his weapons with 2 different statuses - lighting the first weapon on fire and electrifying the second. This means the risk of two negative statuses being applied if damage is received. Try to remove the statuses as soon as they appear and avoid ignoring your health gradually trickling away.

1. In addition to melee attacks, the Blade Twin can send shockwaves - normal or fiery ones. Remember that you can parry the shockwaves to charge the boss's panic meter. If the situation is not optimal, it is better to dodge to a side.

1. Red attack that is often used by the final boss is a charge from air. The attack is very fast, which makes it difficult to perfect parry it. The safest way to avoid it is to dodge to a side.
2. The Blade Twin can also attack with normal attacks involving double jumping in the air and concluding the combination with a strong hit to the ground.

1. Some of the normal and red attacks of the Blade Twin involve using the grappling rope to deal ranged damage. Parrying these attacks is difficult and it is better to move away from the effective range of the rope.

1. Same as with the previous fights, Blade Twin can parry your attacks. Remember to stop further swings when the enemy has parried one of your attacks, as they won't be effective. The parries may throw your hero off-balance and deprive you of a part of or your entire Ki power.

1. During the battle, Blade Twin can change his fighting style and used weapon - remember to adjust the style according to what the enemy does to maintain high effectiveness of your attacks.
2. Make sure to stop the boss's eventual attempts to heal - the best way to stop him is to use the revolver or grappling rope.
3. The Ki Blaze can be used by you as well as your opponent, so if the enemy activates his, watch out for stronger attacks from him and use yours once it can be activated.

1. At the very end of the battle, approach the kneeling boss and fire a critical hit - this will activate the cut-scene depicting the final defeat of Blade Twin.

Important choice after defeating the Blade Twin

Time for the final major decision during the game. You have 2 main options:

1. spare the Blade Twin;
2. kill the Blade Twin.

Depending on your decision, you will get one of 2 possible endings. You can continue playing in endgame mode (free exploration and completing remaining activities/quests).
