Rise of the Ronin, one of the recent Koei Tecmo games, was finally released on PC. So, if you don’t have a PS5, you can finally check out this title (as long as you can handle poor technical condition). The story takes you to 19th-century Japan, where you take the role of a ronin and travel across the country. You will meet many interesting characters during the journey. One of them is Taka Murayama. Unfortunately, her story is tragic, and you can't do anything about it.

Can you prevent Taka's death in Rise of the Ronin?

Warning! This part contains spoilers from Rise of the Ronin. You read it at your own risk.

Taka Murayama is a geisha working in the Miyozaki pleasure district in Yokohama. She’s one of the first characters you will meet in the city. This woman, associated with Pro-Shogunate Faction, is your non-combat ally for almost whole Chapter 1. She’s also one of the romance options.

Taka's fate is not one of the happiest – at the end of Chapter 1 she is killed by Manabe. Some of the characters in the game can be saved, you even have a second chance if you use Testament of Souls. So, this makes you wonder whether you can also prevent demise of Taka. Unfortunately, I have bad news for you – her death is integral part of the storyline. You don’t have an option to change her fate, regardless of whether you had maxed out Bond and Favor or used the Testament of Souls.

So, if you want to romance Taka, you should hurry. When you end the Yokohama storyline, she will be absent from the story. At this point you can only use Testament of Souls to replay Chapter 1. You can learn how to use it from our guide.
