One of your first actions after reaching the open map of Rise of the Ronin should be to acquire your first mount. We describe how to get your first horse for free, how to buy the best mounts and how to choose the so-called tack for a horse at a stable and how to increase the stats related to horse riding.

How to get the first horse?

1. You receive your first mount for free shortly after completing the prologue and reaching the first map - Yokohama.
2. In the first region, Honmoku, you will come across a village occupied by bandits - one of the Public Order activities (the picture above). Get rid of all the enemies from the village to regain control over it. After that, various friendly NPCs will appear in it.

1. In the village you should find, e.g. an NPC with a horse - the picture shows it.
2. Conversing with this character will lead to receiving a Horse Flute and unlocking the first horse - it will be given to the hero without any additional charges.

1. We recommend placing the flute in one of the quick access slots. This will allow you to easily summon a mount with a single press of a direction on the d-pad.

Stables and purchasing the best horses

1. In stables you can buy new horses and change the equipment of your mounts.
2. The first sample stable is located in the Ishikawa region near the city of Yokohama - the picture shows it.

1. You get new horses by spending silver coins, not the main currency. You can earn silver coins for selected quests and activities (e.g. finding cats).
2. When choosing a horse, you should consider its speed (for more efficient travel across the map) and endurance (for engaging in battles without dismounting), as well as additional bonuses to stats. The black horse in the picture has a bonus that makes basic attacks from the horseback stronger.
3. If you have more than 1 horse, you can choose an active mount in a stable - preferably the one with the highest statistics.

Equipment for a horse

1. Horse equipment is called tack - you can buy it in a stable or get it, for example, as a reward for completing a mission.
2. The tack from our picture improves the effectiveness of bow attacks, as well as increases the speed and maximum stamina of the mount.
