Rifle, revolver, bow and fire cylinder are the main varieties of ranged weapons in the game Rise of the Ronin. We suggest how to acquire new and better varieties of firearms and what types of throwing gadgets there are.

In Rise of the Ronin, in addition to various types of melee weapons, you can also use ranged means of combat such as firearms, bows, and throwables. On this page we show how to obtain all main types of ranged weapons - you'll learn in the individual paragraphs when they are unlocked and how to get better variants of them.

How to get a rifle?

1. The first rifle is obtained already in the prologue, specifically during the course of its second part - Infiltrating the Black Ship mission. You'll take the weapon from one of the defeated soldiers.
2. The rifle is a perfect weapon for attacking enemies that aren't directly targeting the hero. The shots are slow, but their stopping power is very high. Always try to aim for the enemy's head so that a full red icon appears. Such a hit can kill ordinary enemies on the spot and seriously injure stronger ones.

How to get a revolver?

1. The first revolver is unlocked after completing A Lucky Find Put to Use story mission in Act 1. It can also appear as a reward in many later quests.
2. The revolver is great as an additional help during melee battles. Try to fire your shots when the enemy is attempting an attack. Perfect timing may result in an effect similar to a Counterspark i.e. the enemy attack stopped and his panic meter increased.

How to get a bow?

1. The bow is obtained later in the game. Wait for the appearance of quests whose rewards include bows or visit any Horseback Archery activity once they are unlocked - there will be various types of bows as rewards for completing these activities (example in screenshot 2).
2. The bow is perfect for ranged attacks and eliminating enemies silently. It is very important to aim for the head and be ready to repeat the shot because bows have less penetrating power than rifles.

How to get a fire pipe?

1. You can research the Fire Pipe in the Technology Development menu - this is a mechanic that is unlocked during the main story shortly after receiving the Camera. The research costs 3,000 coins. As you unlock the Fire Pipe, A Lucky Find Put to Use quest will be initiated where you test the new weapon.
2. The Fire Pipe is a classic flamethrower - you can set enemies on fire during battles to apply a negative burning status that deals damage over time. Fire Pipe can also destroy some blockades.

How to acquire better variants of ranged weapons?

Better variants of ranged weapons are obtained in a variety of ways:

1. Available in blacksmith's stock - don't overspend on weapons in the initial phase of the game, as the coins are better spent elsewhere.
2. Obtained as loot- look primarily in large chests, but also search the corpses of enemies.
3. Received as quest rewards - before initiating each task, you can look up the rewards for their completion and there may be ranged weapons among them.

How to use throwables?

During the game, you'll also encounter one-use throwables that can be thrown at enemies to attack them from a distance.

1. Shurikens can be found during the course of The Setting Sun mission from the prologue. You can use them to interrupt enemies' attacks and weaken them.
2. Earthenware Balls are unlocked shortly after arriving in Yokohama and approaching the first Unruly Area location. They can be used to distract opponents e.g. to make them leave their posts.

You can upgrade the throwable power thanks to certain skills e.g. to carry a larger supply of them or increase the damage they cause.
