During the task The Feud in Aburanokoji in Act 3 of Rise of the Ronin you will have to defeat boss Kashitaro Ito. On this page of our guide, we explain when exactly the clash takes place in Kyoto region and show how to avoid being poisoned and how to counter the boss's unique attacks.
Battle location
- The battle will happen during one of the missions in Act 3. By progressing in the main story, you'll reach The Feud in Aburanokoji story quest.
- During the task, you'll stage an ambush on the Ito faction, during which you'll need to defeat two minibosses - Heisuke Todo and Mikisaburo Suzuki. Continue until you reach the main building from the screenshot. Make use of the Banner you encounter to save your progress and replenish supplies. By opening the large gate, you'll be able to reach the location where the fight against Kashitaro Ito will take place.
How to win against Kashitaro?
- Kashitaro will be joined by normal opponents. We recommend dealing with them right away, as there will be no more respawning aides appearing in the course of the battle. This will also prevent a situation where the aides cause problems for you when you're attempting to fight the boss, especially because of the red attacks that they can use.
- Ito's basic attack is a combination of melee attacks, but the boss can do much more than that. Ito can, e.g. jump on the statues in the arena. When he is on one, discharges will appear and you should avoid them. Next attack that Ito can use is firing poisonous green projectiles. Successfully Countersparking one of the projectiles may imbue your weapon with poison (green colour).
- Every time you see the boss perched on a statue, quickly fire a ranged weapon or wait until he jumps from the object. Him jumping from the statue is followed by a normal or a red attack. Try to parry the landing attempt or perform a dodge.
- One of the red attacks the boss has in his repertoire is a bomb throw - failing to avoid it may deprive your hero of his entire Ki and stun him for a brief moment. The boss will use this opportunity to continue attacking.
- Among the red attacks, we also have a rain of green projectiles. The casting time of this attack is quite long - practice perfect dodging to avoid being poisoned, which will result in a negative status.
