First encounter with Blue Demon - infiltrating the Black Ship
- Blue Demon is an ultra-powerful warrior wearing a blue mask with horns, who initially conceals their identity.
- You will encounter this enemy for the first time in the main mission, Infiltrating the Black Ship, which is the second part of the prologue. Blade Twins must cross the ship and defeat Matthew Perry - the battle with the Commodore is described in the Bosses chapter.
- Blue Demon will appear right after defeating the ship's captain. You won't be able to catch a break nor save the game.
Is it possible to win the fight in the prologue?
- Blue Demon overwhelms the protagonists with their strength and seems impossible to defeat. This is justified in the plot, because after the clash with the Demon, you have to "sacrifice" one of the heroes.
- The game allows you to win the fight against Blue Demon and it works similarly to the first encounter with Genichiro Ashina in Sekiro. You must demonstrate perfect mastery of the combat system.
- Setting the difficulty level to the lowest level may help you win your first fight with Blue Demon. Create a manual save before entering the captain's cabin and before reaching the main deck. Unfortunately, if you lose the battle with the Demon and want to repeat it, you must also repeat the fight with Matthew Perry after loading the save. Otherwise, the game will acknowledge your defeat and you will proceed to the last part of the prologue.
- The plot will continue regardless of your efforts, although if you win the first fight with Blue Demon, you will receive a silver trophy Tears of a Blue Demon.
Boss fight description
- First of all, try to use as little health items as possible while fighting Perry. This will allow you to start the fight with Blue Demon with a large supply of meds.
- Rely on switching between heroes when necessary. You'll be able to catch a breath or reach a fallen companion and revive them. You will fail the fight only after losing both protagonists.
- Blue Demon relies on series of quick attacks. Practice performing countersparks to stop every blow in a series. Thanks to this, you can gradually charge the boss's panic bar.
- Watch out for the boss's attempts to catch you with the grappling rope. Blue Demon can then pull your character closer and immediately perform an attack.
- If there are any red barrels on the main deck, grab them with your own grappling rope and throw them at the boss. Do this when Blue Demon attacks another character and there is a high chance that he will not dodge the barrel.
- The Blue Demon's red attacks are very dangerous, mostly because at the beginning of the game your characters have rather low stats and weak equipment.
- Parrying the boss's attacks is possible, but very risky and in extreme cases, your character may die instantly. Consider relying on dodges even if it makes the fight a little longer.
Another clash with Blue Demon
- Blue Demon appears multiple times in the later part of the campaign as well. Expect another fight with this boss shortly after reaching the Edo region, at the end of the first act of the campaign.
- The second Blue Demon fight is a full-fledged fight, in which the game forces you to defeat the boss - this fight is described in the Bosses chapter.
