Emerald-Armored Mantis in a nutshell
- The opponent doesn't have many unique moves. The attacks are rather typical blows. The fight is divided into two stages. In the second one, the boss is so aggressive that even with such a small range of attacks, it can pose a real threat. Be patient and wait for your turn to attack.
- Most of the boss's blows can be avoided by retreating. The mantis attacks at a very short range and this is its biggest weakness.
- The Plantain Fan is the best relic to choose. Use it in the second phase because the tornado will constantly stun the boss and it is at this point of the fight that the boss is most dangerous.
Emerald-Armored Mantis's attacks
- Claws hitting the ground - the boss will raise its arms and then slam them on the ground. When you notice this attack, immediately retreat and dodge.
- Slashes- the mantis attacks with its legs up to five times. When you spot the blade near the center of its head, immediately start dodging its attacks.
- Stinger attack - once you get behind the boss's back, it can use its stinger and attack you with it. This is an easy attack to avoid, as it has a small range and is well signaled.
- Spinning wheel - in the second phase, when the mantis's attacks start to be accompanied by a red glow, it means that the boss will start performing spinning punches. This is a series of multiple short range attacks. However, they're performed so often that you need to find a perfect moment between the end of the ongoing sequence and the start of a new one. It's best to use an immobilization spell then.
How to fight the Emerald-Armored Mantis?
The first phase is easy enough that just regular and charged attacks should do the trick, without using up mana. You will need mana in the second phase, which will begin when the boss's health drops to 60%. At first, focus on observing his attacks and dodging them backwards. Once you learn the patterns, start attacking.
In the second phase, the boss will be much more aggressive. This is the perfect time to use the Plantain Fan. It's best to first immobilize the enemy and only then use the relic. Once the tornado forms, immediately start attacking. Take advantage of these few seconds to inflict damage.
It is important not to engage in combat aggressively when you know you have no way to interrupt the enemy's attacks. While your spells are being renewed, we recommend a defensive approach to the battle.
