Captain Wise-Voice is a main boss encountered in Pagoda Realm, near the Outside the Wheel shrine. He's located in a large structure resembling a rotating bell tower. He's the one creating the aura that buffs enemies and drains your health. Captain Wise-Voice in a nutshell
- Captain Wise-Voice is the one creating the aura that buffs enemies and lowers your health. It can also appear in the arena, initially dazing your character a bit.
- The boss's weak point is his golden head. By attacking it you'll deal more damage. First, however, you must stun the boss by attacking his red front leg. After a few big hits the boss should collapse.
- Despite its drawbacks, the aura also has some advantages. When your eyes turn red, that means the aura is buffing your damage too. That's when you should go all-out and keep attacking the boss with all you've got.
- Apart from his head and leg, the boss is completely invulnerable. Focus only on those body parts.
Captain Wise-Voice's attacks
- Head lasers - the boss opens the fight with this move. He fires a laser beam from his head, attacking in random directions. The damage is tiny, but the laser can hit you multiple times. Hide under the boss and attack him.
- Stomp - the boss raises his front paw and stomps down on the player. A heavily telegraphed attack you can dodge easily.
- Ground slide - the captain lowers himself and slides across the ground, trying to ram you. This attack reaches far but is done sideways.
- Bell and aura - the boss' signature move you've already experienced while exploring. He starts hitting his head, creating sonic waves. After a while he'll create an aura that reduces your maximum health, buffing the boss' damage - and yours, too. This is a great opportunity to strike at his head.
- A jump on all fours - the Captain can jump high up into the air and land on all fours - right on top of you. Dodge and immediately counterattack.
- Stomping - the boss stands still and starts stomping the ground. The stomps also cause sonic waves. To avoid them either jump over them or use Pillar Stance while watching out for your stamina.
- Laser beams from head and the sky - resembles the first laser attack, but after a while yellow circles appeal on the arena, telegraphing a powerful ranged attack. Focus on avoiding them specifically.
- Intense laser beam - the final attack is a large laser which fires in different directions. Observe it carefully to avoid it. Once again, watch out for the yellow circles on the floor.
How to fight Captain Wise-Voice?
Immediately start attacking his right front leg. This is the only spot on his body you can damage. After damaging the leg enough, you'll topple the boss and expose its head. Move closer and start attacking the head to deal some serious damage.
It's best to stick close to the boss for most of the fight. This is mostly due to his size, as if you stick close, his attacks may not hit you.
Remember you can walk while healing yourself. This is very useful, especially when the boss is firing out lasers.
Watch out for the ground when the boss fires out projectiles. When the arena turns red, jump or perfect dodge to avoid taking damage.
