Character progression in Black Myth Wukong is done a bit differently than in typical soulslike games. After collecting the required number of experience points, we will receive a spark you can spend on a given ability from the skill tree. The amount of available skills can easily overwhelm. From our guide you will learn which ones are worth investing in and buying in the early stages of the game.
Best skills
- Deft Evasion (Foundation) - with this skill from the early stages of the Foundation tree, you will improve your dodge, making it much faster.
- Rampant Vigor (Foundation) - each point spent in this passive ability increases Wukong's stamina bar. This will allow for performing a greater number of dodges and prolongs the duration of actions like the Pillar Stance.
- Robust Constitution (Foundation) - each point spent in this passive skill increases your health bar. You can never have too much health, especially since enemies deal much more damage in the later stages.
- Composure (Foundation) - dodges will not interrupt light attack combos, the same goes for perfect dodges.
- Crash (Mysticism) - each point spent in this skill increases the damage dealt to immobilized enemies.
- Stagnation (Mysticism) - each point spent in this skill will cause light attacks on a immobilized enemy to extend the duration of the next Immobilize.
- Evanescence (Mysticism) - an ability that works like parrying attacks. If you use Immobilize at the perfect moment of the opponent's attack, you will significantly increase the duration effect of the spell and the damage dealt to the target.
- Exhilaration (Staff Stances) - each level of this talent will cause you to regain a small amount of health after using an ability that requires a focus point.
- Pillar Stance (Staff Stances) - one of the better skills that combines offense with defense. When you hold the button responsible for a strong attack, you will stand on the pole that grows higher and higher the longer you hold the button. It deals a lot of damage, has a very good range, and allows you to avoid opponents' low attacks. Be careful with your stamina bar though, because if it reaches zero, Wukong will fall off his staff.
